Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread

I knew it was something. Yes, I do a 'trick' when they clamp Superman's bar down. I kinda shift my forearm down there before they push it down. Water park today for me!

I have only run into mean employees at the go karts. Every year it is like that. They need a new loud system out there.

The stunt show was funny. Looking forward to seeing it again, especially when they get all of the moves down; faster action.

Good tip on the forearm. When/where was the stunt show? I didn't grab a show map and the only thing we ran into was the live mardi gras band and dancers which I thought were pretty good.

I can't believe they didn't get the star flyer up for Memorial Day wknd.

Know what i think? They are trying to coincide the opening with the movie.

We have a winning guess here

Do I get a prize? Of course my guess goes down the toilet if it doesn't open by next weekend.

Well . . . your prize could be . . . ride the Lasso of Truth as many times as you want in a row opening day

Was at the park this morning, from rope drop to about 3pm. I was expecting the park to be crazy for the holiday but it was pretty empty! Did the waterpark pools and a couple slides with no wait, then made my way over to dry park.

Roar and Wild one had 2 train waits, and Gotham coasters had roughly the same, if not slightly longer.

A lot more entertainment options, now the Block Party and Mardi Gras show are running! Also a lot more diverse lineup of characters. Batman was meeting in Gotham City while the Joker and Riddler characters roamed around Gotham messing with guests. At the front of the park Granny was meeting with Sylvester and Tweety, and Lola was with Bugs.

Also according to one of the character escorts, for the opening of Lasso of Truth, the full Justice Leuge will be meeting at the park that day. That'll be a good photo op!

Food lines weren't too bad, although the park could use one or two more restaurants. I had the Bacon Cheesburger from Gotham Food Court and it was okay! Patty was dry, but fresh lettuce and tomato compensated for that.

We were in the park at open yesterday early and everything was walk on, my oldest and her friend set their record for rerides on Superman. During the rain we checked out the Western show inside. The performers were into it. Hopped on the rapids since I was already wet from the first rain shower. The water in the ride was coooooold, I don't know how anybody was in the water park. High tailed it before the bigger rain came.

I asked about not putting the lapbar down on WO and the guy shrugged his shoulders and said we just need to make sure we check everyone.

I usually exhale my big beer gut when they lower the superman restraints. I find it more important to get knees and manparts situated before they lock. I don't mind tight restraints on SkyRush with all of the air.

I'm heading to the park on a Monday in a couple of weeks, and I've never been to this park. Any suggestions for a plan of attack?

The last day of school for the two closest counties are 6/8 and 6/12.

Basic theme park attack. In at open and hit the biggest coaster first (Superman and Batwing) hop on Joker on the walk back and to the Mardi Gras section. The whole park in is doable in three hours. Check out Annapolis for dinner.

^ But keep in mind Batwing doesn't always open with the park.

But agreed, the park is really small and if crowds are low you can knock everything out in no time.

What they said ^^. Are you going to the water park?

Use your own judgement, but I would do the splash boat, yes I called it that (have since I was a little boy), first. You'll eventually dry off as you stay at the park, instead of 'drying ' in your car. If you have leather in your car, then strike the last comment.

In order to get to Superman and Batwing you have to walk through Whistle-kiddieville due to the star flyer construction. Not sure if it's marked on the map but you need to go to the left through the kidsville. We weren't paying attention so missed their pathetic signage and accidentally walked allllllllll the way back towards Superman only to be met with a construction wall telling us to turn around and go allllllllll the way back around.

The need of a new paint job on the tracks (while the supports still look fresh) in those pictures make the ride look like it is in utter disrepair.

Sunday I saw workers swapping out the rotted wood on the Penguin sign. I wonder where the track paint is on the ongoing in season to do list.

http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/business/bs-bz-six-flags-wonder-woman-ride-20170601-story.html

"The park announced the ride as the new "Wonder Woman" movie opens in theaters Friday.

"Excitement around Wonder Woman is at its peak, making this the perfect time to debut the first ride bearing this iconic female DC Super Hero's name," said Rick Howarth, the park's president, in an announcement Thursday.

The ride will be located next to the Superman Ride of Steel roller coaster. The park plans an official unveiling on June 13. The park, run by Six Flags Entertainment Corp., opened for the season May 26 and will remain open through Labor Day, Sept. 4."

So, I "wonder" if pass holders will indeed get rides early on the 11th.

Haven't been on joker this season to experience it myself, but it seems like they boosted the speed up after the incident. Hopefully they keep it like this because poltergeist at fiesta texas normally runs like this
