Yeah it's so weird how they just let it go to crap.

2 or 3 years ago it was actually a decent ride except for the helixes.

Did the ride become "rough" because it was not looked after properly..? or was it just not built right.?

CCI also built megafobia and Torr de Zues and these have not become rough over the last 6 years.

I have heard Megafobia has had the top layer of it's track replaced in the last few years and that's it for maintance. It runs as smooth as the day it was born. :)

The only real bad part I found each ride was the first helix. The second helix only sucked on 4-5 of my 9.05 rides on the coaster.

Oh and if this was on ThrillNetwork I would have to ban you for saying "helixes" the word is "helices" ::P

Anyone else think that had this ride not gotten the Gerstlauer trains it could have actually been a decent ride?

I do remember there being a goodly amount of airtime on it, but it was just rough as hell.

I personally thought the ride elements were WAY better than Swamp Fox, but it was nearly unrideable when I went on it. It actually shook the lipstick camera loose! :wtf:

LOL That would be an interesting one to watch.

I really think PTCs would have helped it a lot.

The helices (or however you spell that) both were banked so weird (as in they weren't banked at all) that they beat me up both trips down to Pavilion. I mean why not bank the stupid things?

The first trip down there it had a lot of air, in September it wasn't nearly as much and it was just painful the whole ride. It was bashing me in the legs the whole way around each helix as well.

I dont know. The hills were kinda rampy but even with the g-trains I didnt think it was THAT bad. After being told by people it was one of the worst rides ever.. I got on thinking it was going to be like SOB or Beast... But it was just kinda 'ouch' in the first helix... But not to the point where I didnt reride.. Unlike SOB where once a day is good... I was able to ride Hurricane 8 full laps in 1 day.. 2-3 in a row!
(and i took 1 night ride the day before.. and also on the last ride of the night I got walked down the lift hill! yay 9.05 rides ::D )

Maybe I am just a softie, but I was bummed when I saw that.

I agree Robb that it probably would have been a better ride with PTC's because I have had rides on Hurler at PKD that shook a lot worse, but the G-trains are what killed it for me, since they kill your legs. I also agree that the Family Kingdom should have been torn down instead (except for Swamp Fox, they shoudl keep that up).

Downtown Myrtle Beach is going to feel so empty for a few years now until they get done with all the construction they're going to do in place of the pavilion.

Is that 1st picture in the 3rd row a picture of The Atic being demolished?I thought they were keeping that
