Dollywood announces 2006 addition

Postby Airtime 2000 » Thu Jul 07, 2005 6:29 am

Well, Robb's wish was granted... the rumors of the 95 degree drop coaster were false!

Dollywood has announced that for 2006 they will be adding the first Topple Tower in the US. It will be named "Timber Tower", and will be in the Thunderhead gap. check out some artwork here:

How many more months until opening day in 2006? And construction has already begun. WTF! Am I missing something here. It's a Huss flat ride... right?

Good to the last drop

Sweet! I was waiting for one of these to hit the US. Now if only we could get a Huss Booster over the pond...

After riding the Topple Tower last week at Walibi Lorraine, I can say that this is a perfect addition for Dollywood!

It is another "thrill ride for the family". Meaning the ride wasn't that scary to either look at, or especially to ride. As long as they try and keep the height limit on the lower side this will be another winner for the park.

I'll ride as long as it doesn't spin fast on the way up. I HATE SPINNING! This'll be a great addition for Dollywood. I'll probably be there at the grand opening.

Sounds like a great ride for Dollywood, especially right next to Thunderhead. I doubt it will spin very fast on the way up, pretty much like Acrophobia or any of the Intamin Observation Towers, like 2 or 3 rpm. I just may have to stop on by on my trip to SFOG next year (I was going to go anyway, just for some skillets and 'head!)

All clear...Dispatch, enjoy your ride,

Derek -glad they didn't go and get the Eurofighter afterall!

Don't be surprised if you see the vertical drop coaster go in for 2007 or 2008.
