VF15 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Carowinds confirmed via Facebook comments that they will record a video of Fury 325's first test run next week (probably just off-ride footage and not a POV). Once it is posted, the complaining will begin .
chargersmichael Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 ^I can vision that happen haha. But I do think this will be very fast and the video will show it since it is very low to ground. I'm excited for it!
drummermattk Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Does anyone if Charlotte got more snow this past week? I know they got a little bit after the Storage Shed roof was put on, but Ohio's been blasted with snow over the past couple of days. Just wondering though
tarheel1231 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 There hasn't been any snow. Just freezing temperatures. Luckily, it's only supposed to hit 36* Farenheit, so there shouldn't be any more snow. Just rain.
nicman Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 How come the New Gate Construction is all dark? :
Comeagain? Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 The picture hasn't updated since early this morning when it was still dark.
larrygator Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 How come the New Gate Construction is all dark? : PLEASE, stop asking stupid questions?
Patrick B8men Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 How come the New Gate Construction is all dark? : Unfortunately the sun has burnt out, cloaking the Earth in eternal darkness. Hopefully they can mount some headlights on the Fury 325 trains.
Ed Farmer Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 While I still like them on B&M's smaller coasters, having one on a hyper is pretty awkward and just doesn't feel right, so I'm glad they've been eliminated from those designs at least. It might look a bit awkward, but it's also the reason that Raging Bull's 65°(208') drop is one of the best on a steel coaster anywhere despite the increasingly taller and steeper drops that have been built since. The world would be a better place if they hadn't engineered it out of their designs.

The world would be a better place if they hadn't engineered it out of their designs. I haven't ridden Raging Bull, but I have ridden Apollo's Chariot and Nitro, and I prefer no predrop. Maybe Raging Bull has a better profile than AC? But I find that the back seat of Nitro gives superior air to AC. It's just so floaty and amazing. Hell I think I even prefer Hydra's drop in the back to AC. I still think the best approach for a world class steel drop though is to rocket riders up the lift at 15+ miles and hour and just throw you over the drop like i305, Skyrush, or El Toro back in the day. I love me some Intamin, but I'm glad B&M also exists to make rides that are just pure fun. The drop on Fury is gonna be pure floaty bliss.

JonnyRCT3 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Okay, so this gives us somewhere between three and seven days to prepare for the onslaught of comments about how slow it looks based on the first run. I think that's enough time. Very accurate. I mean just judging by the reaction of the dummies, this is clearly the most force less B&M coaster ever built
glucky11801 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Looks like the green LED's on the lift hill are ON!!!
GCI Wooden Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Oh my gosh, that looks amazing! The hexagon on the sation is pretty cool, but the lift hill looks awesome! This is probably going to be an amazing night ride!
BotanicalStig Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Lookin great. Just a few more weeks until opening
Password121 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I just got a hell of a lot more excited for this coaster, and the prospect that I just might get the chance to ride it! I think it's great that B&M has entered into the giga coaster market; I'm intrigued to see how their design evolves, as I'm sure there are more parks that could benefit from one of these massive coasters.
Paradox Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I honestly had a blast on Leviathan and found it to be somewhat underrated. I can't wait to see how this compares and I love that they are at least doing some theming as well!
DoinItForTheFame Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I love the light on the station... Not sure how I feel about the lift hill light... I'm sure it will grow on me though. Glad to see the coaster is as far along as it is.
B&MIntaminGCI Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I wish they'd crest the lift with the lights until the catwalk ends, but other than that it looks freaking amazing. I bet the photos at night with professional cameras are gonna look stellar, kind of like the windseekers.
