Top Three Woodies

Alright I was watching travel channel last night and there was a show announcing the golden ticket award winners.

When best woodie came up i was sure it would be

3.)Balder

2.) The Voyage

1.) El Toro

or something including those 3.

The real winners were

3.) Shivering Timbers

2.) Balder Dash

1.) Thunderhead

Is anyone else surprised at these top 3?

All 3 winners for last year are amazing rides within themselves, This year will be even closer.

The best Woodie I have been on is The Beast in 2000

My personal top 3 is:

1. Cyclops

2. Hershey Wildcat

3. Hades

I should be going to HW as soon as I get back home to Cincy, so I'm hoping to edit those in somehow.

Yeah, I would not base anything off the Golden Ticket Awards!!!!

Use Mitch's poll for an idea of what the best 'enthusiast' rides are. The Golden Tickets are more of a 'GP/Suck Up" list.

I predict that this year Voyage will take the #1 spot and Balder will take #2. However, Balder will always be #1 to me!!!!

^ The Golden Ticket awards voted Valhalla the best Water ride in the world! So I gathered they were pretty good, as Valhalla is an amazing ride.

And why isn't Coaster Express/Wild Wild West in that top 3 Woodies?

[edit] Well I never, Nemesis is 4th in the best steel coaster award 2005, chuffed with that result, gets me even more hyped up for whoring it tomorrow.

El Toro and Voyage were not open until this year so that could be a posibility. But I agree that Balder should have been up there. Golden Tickets suck.

Golden tickets are more based off of pure ridership. So the better rides in remote areas tend to get ignored. It's also why places like Cedar Point clean up on these awards.

My top 3 personally goes:

1. Thunderhead

2. Hades

3. Balder

Honourable mention to Avalanche, Lightning Racer, and Phoenix.

There is a bias when it comes to rides at Six Flags parks.

What about Hades? I've seen loads of videos of it and it looks amazing!

Where is El Toro?

My top 3, since I've only been on about 15 total coasters...

1) Voyage

2) Hades

3) Tremors, I think... might be Raven which was too short, or Legend. That group is pretty tight.

Man, it's really a shame all the good coasters are way out East. Stupid Canada. That's why we're totally building the best coaster ever in Sundre, Alberta. Bonus points to whomever can find it on a map.
