    • I have no idea why a first time coaster lover rider would even wait for that line, even if traveling from afar. I wouldn't.
    • Witnesses didn't hear a "click" when the restraint was secured.
    • It seems weird that a ride reopening is being advertised so hard
    • Yeah I was praying they didn't adjust the restraints, the freedom of it is a big component of how great it is.  Being clamped down, it would still be fun, just... lesser.       Related, I was kind of surprised how difficult it can be to convey how hurt you could get on a coaster if you're not conscious.  To me it seems obvious, but my fiancee couldn't really grasp it.   "But how can it be safe?" It's safe, almost any ride could hurt you if you're not awake, etc etc. I told her go completely limp in her office chair and I shook it around a bit, that was a real eye opener for her.
    • Kill Mart, lol. FR though... that nostalgia.
    • It's nice to hear about upgraded entertainment, but that's pretty disposable, isn't it? I think a reason to sleep more soundly would be the announcement of a new attraction. Those are just my thoughts.    So that's the standard now? We've finally hit, "let's just hope we stay open."?? I remember when a hyper was on our wish list. This is exactly the shit I've been talking about over the years. I guess we'll just have to wait and see just how much "corporate hates out park." Granted, both chains were in trouble, despite people liking to think Six Flags is responsible for sinking the ship. But, I remember being criticized over being pessimistic (shocker, right?) about the merger. What a shit show.
    • Thank you so much Doppel Looping for this nice trip report!  I enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures!  As a roller coaster enthusiath and a beer lover, it's been my dream for many years to go to the Oktoberfest in Munich!  I came close to realizing that dream this year but fell short!  Next yeat maybe.  I can't wait to ride the Olympia Looping.  I have always been fascinated by  Schwarzkopf loopers.  I have ridden a few including the Mindbender at Galaxyland and will probably make it to Indiana Beach next summer to ride their All American Triple Loop!  Such awesome coasters!
    • seeing reports online (apparently "leaked") that Epic is reopening Stardust Racers tomorrow (Sat, 10/4). if true, I'm glad to see it reopening without any restraint adjustments - and I'm really surprised by that.    but pleased.   EDIT TO ADD: "Entertainment Weekly" picked it up: https://ew.com/universal-epic-universe-stardust-racers-reopening-date-roller-coaster-death-11824081
    • Supernovae Productions on a Theme Park Roadtrip to Sweden Summer vacation 2025 was all about a trip with the final destination: Liseberg in Sweden. As preparation we designed a route with the help of coast2coaster, making sure to hit several parks along the way. Starting from Rotterdam, the trip took us through Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and back again to the Netherlands.  Day 1: You can find it here Tier-und Freizeitpark Thule  Day 2: You can find it here Pottspark Now we’ve arrived at Day 3 and the third park of the trip. This park features Strohnado, a family spinning coaster with a hamster wheel attached to the back car. None of us had ever experienced this kind of ride before, so of course we had to try it out. Capacity, however, was painfully slow. Standing in the scorching sun for an hour didn’t exactly make things better. Once on board, the ride itself was fun and quirky, but the hamster wheel section wasn’t as wild as we’d hoped—only a short moment where you could do a full 360° rotation. The coaster was also quite short overall. Not really worth the long wait, but hey, another coaster credit earned      Right next to Strohnado stands a Vekoma Junior Coaster with the imaginative name “Achterbahn”. A quick and easy credit.     Then there was Verrücktwärts, a shuttle coaster. And let me tell you folks: in the time this thing takes to get going, you could travel around the world, negotiate world peace, file your taxes, and enjoy a proper cup of coffee. Okay, I may be exaggerating—but it really gives you an idea of just how sloooooow this ride was. Given the layout, it’s hard to understand what the manufacturer (SBF-Visa Group) was going for here. Or maybe we coaster fans have just gotten too spoiled?   With the heat, the water rides were a welcome sight. We started with the Rafting-bahn (river rapids). The highlight here was the whirlpool, but theming was minimal—just a few dinosaurs scattered around and lots of green vegetation. The waves were tame, and we came off surprisingly dry, which was actually a bit disappointing on a 30°C day.         Luckily, there was also a log flume: the creatively named Wildwasserbahn. Two drops—one small and one big finale. Unlike the previous park, this time the final splash really got us soaked, which was perfect in the summer heat .   Splash from the small drop   Splash from the big drop   We wrapped up the day with a ride on Blizzard, the park’s bobsled coaster. Earlier we’d considered skipping it due to the massive queue, knowing these types of rides are usually a nightmare for capacity. Thankfully, by the end of the day the wait had dropped, so we decided to go for it. These bobsleds are always fun, especially because you can control the speed yourself. Luckily, none of us got stuck behind slow riders, so we were able to go full throttle all the way down.       Final thoughts on the park: pretty similar to the last two we visited—small, family-friendly, and only really worth it if you’re in the area. The coaster lineup was underwhelming (not in number, but in type). If you’re looking for something more exciting, Thule or Potts Park would be better choices. Tomorrow, we’re off to our first major park of the trip: Heide Park!
    • Interesting discovery on reddit. RMC is again trying to sell a modified version of the T-Rex, this time called Split Rex. I don't fully understand the difference, but of note is a promotional image they released of a computer generated model. The coaster is surrounded by little, white, non-descript buildings in the model and someone pretty quickly figured out and demonstrated that these buildings are from Everland. RMC is also working with the park on their woodie. I will be making it to Korea at some point if a RMC Giga goes up next to an Intamni pre-fab, that is for sure.   https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fnnljmgvmapsf1.png
    • Oh yeah, just typed them in the wrong order off the top of my head. No plans to spend two days at SFOT though. Shouldn't be a need.
    • Loved reading your trip reports.  Thanks for taking the time to post everything!  I've been to Germany (and Munich) during "off-seasons".  Dang, I NEED to get to Oktoberfest, etc!
    • Today was the last day of our trip. We have seen a lot, rode a lot of coasters, drank a lot of beer and ate a lot of good food. Pretty much what we set out to do.    We started the day right with a proper Bavarian weißwurst frühstück (breakfast) at the Schneider brauerei restaurant near Marienpmatz.  it is white veal sausage with sweet mustard and a pretzel, washed down with a weizenbier. In this case they had a special festbier version which was really good.    As we were finishing up we noticed that it started to get very busy in the restaurant. I mentioned to the waitress that we picked a good time to get there early before it got busy and she told us that octoberfest was shut down for the day because of a bomb threat. They said they would try to have it open at 5:00 pm at the earliest.   Oops…The shame is, it was the nicest sunniest day all week to be closed on.   We had planned to spend the day walking around town anyway but hoped it would open again as promised.  We took a tram tour around and ended up at the lowenbrau keller. It was a beautiful building from the outside but we didn't see the inside because it was full of people who would have otherwise been in the tents at the Wiesen. While taking a break at the hotel we heard it confirmed that the fest was reopening at 5:30pm so we came back for a final visit.   We took the u bahn to Poccistraße and came in the south end by the oide wiesen. We caught a nice view of olympia looping from behind with the sun setting. We took some last rides on Alpina bahn, and the double wild mouse. When offered the chance to have a 1/2 meter sausage we couldn’t possibly refuse.   Took a ride on the beer carrousel because it looked like fun and it not the kind of thing you see back home.    From there we went to the riesenrad where they didn’t offer us a beer. We got some nice nightime views of the park all lit up. Really cool up there. We went back to olympia looping and took 4 final rides. Buying the tickets i was thinking I was maybe being a bit obsessive. As i took my last rides I thought it was exactly the right way to finish this journey. I finished off in my favourite seat in the middle of the train, thinking, damn i love this coaster. Thanks for everyone who followed along and reacted to and commented.
