  1. Ugh, you're an awful human that is adding to this mess and not helping it. While I think the policy is horrible and stupid, you know what I do? I RESPECT IT!!! And I hope that a better solution is presented in the future. But by saying "They tell me to take my stuff out of my pocket, but I'm an entitled Californian so I don't bother to listen to them and I do whatever I want to" just makes you one of the worst people on the planet and I hate you because of stupid people JUST LIKE YOU is why we have these obnoxious rules in the first place. Get off our forum. You're not welcome here. Well actually I don't think they tell you to take cell phones out of pockets. It might be on the signage. Can't find anything about it online but its loose articles that are prohibited on the Eel. In any case secured in a cargo pocket is just fine. So you hate Californians in general or all people. I am not directly violating any rules and have never lost an article on any ride. So your hate is ignored and your forum is appreciated.
  2. Ok so no cell but I can keep my wallet. I am having issues finding info on LOCK er rentals. Will I need to rent one all day use one or do they have an all day pay one price option for ones at the rides? I just saw Valravn has exclusive ride time on Tuesday but of course I am not there till Wednesday Thursday this week.
  3. You guys are making this loose articles policy feel insane. You can't even have your wallet and cell phone in your pockets? I usually have those on every ride at magic mountain. X2 is the only ride with a stricter loose article policy. I usually bring a tote bag to all Magic mountain rides and leave it in the bins or on the platform. The Electric EEl in SWSD tells you to take stuff out of your pockets but I rarely do and no one really checks. I will be wearing cargo shorts, can I at least have my cell and wallet in my buttoned up pockets? Do they have all day portable locker rentals like Magic Mountain? You know where you pay one price to use the lockers located at each individual ride? How much? Oh and should I be worried about fast lane plus selling out? I was told not to buy it in advance, i guess because my pass will give me a discount when I get it in the park. Does it go on sale during early entry? Will I be fine to enjoy the early entry short lines and then immediately buy fast lane plus at opening?
  4. Thanks for the quick reply. Called the rental car company and they said EZ-pass is available for $19.95 Now I need to make sure and remember how and turn toll roads on again in my navigation options...... But if it's only supposed to cost 50 cents wow, maybe I should go the stone age route, or since traffic isn't a worry maybe just go the long way. I guess I will decide later, thanks for all the input
  5. Question about driving from the Cleveland Airport. I am seeing that the fastest route uses toll roads. I never take toll roads and don't really know how they work in Ohio. Will there be a toll booth or something or will I just get a nasty bill in the future for driving on it. How much does it cost and how do I pay? I figure it's worth it to save time but the info I am seeing on the internet is confusing me so hoping for a quick answer here. Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for the tips I noted them down I uploaded a photo when I bought my pass online. It also was saying mobile ticket was an option. I only got an email with an option to print tickets and it says I have to go to Season Pass Processing Center to get my photo ID pass, was hoping to avoid that extra step. I am supposed to land around 6 AM, get my rental car, and then I guess it's about an hour 20 minute drive to the park but maybe heavier commuter traffic around that time? Think I can make it for the early entry? I am thinking I will be cutting it close if traffic doesn't slow me down and late if it does.
  7. Ok thanks. I bought the platinum pass and that ended up giving me a great discount on the hotel express that practically paid for the pass based on the rate they showed me originally. I figured that was good enough for me since I’m renting a car and have the free parking with it. Park hours are long in my opinion so I’m hoping I’ll have plenty of time to do everything. I’ll maybe do the fast pass on day 2 if I am feeling it. I’m guessing the summer weather supposed to be almost 80 will be similar to what I’m used to in so cal or should I be prepared for cold nights. Hopefully for me the worst of the rain stays on Monday and Tuesday. I’m excited I have wanted to do this trip for such a long time!
  8. Thanks for the great reply! I am probably looking to splurge a bit. I’m getting a big severance payment and trying to do this trip before I start my next job that I already have lined up. I do see rain and thunderstorms forecast for next week, am I looking at weather ruining the trip if I go on the 8th and 9th do you think? Getting knotts too sounds like the way to go since I’m in so cal and have not been for a few years. Is the fast lane thing going to be worth it for Wednesday Thursday crowds and possible rain? Are there single rider lines I could use maybe instead? This might be the only time I get to go here so I would probably do it but I have never bothered at magic mountain with that stuff.
  9. I live in San Diego and am thinking of taking my first trip to Cedar Point while I am in between jobs next week. Probably Fly Aug 8 and go as much as possible before I need to be back in SD by Saturday afternoon. Very preliminary so I thought I would come here for suggestions. What airport do I even fly to LOL Should I just uber over to a hotel at/near the park? What to do for transportation? Hotel suggestions? What kind of passes should I buy? I am probably going solo and really just care about riding the coasters. I have only been to So Cal theme parks before and want to expand. Thanks for any input, hope I get some helpful replies
  10. an article in the local paper about Submarine Quest's status as SBNO. Basically confirming its closed because it is an embarrassment. http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/tourism/sd-fi-seaworld-submarine-closed-20180531-story.html
  11. The metal detectors are gone now. Is it normal for them to come and go? Electric Eel Coaster opened at noon 5-10-18 I got in line about 1220 and waited 30 minutes. The line has some nice benches to sit on but it needs more shade....looked like the quick queue had more shade umbrellas for some reason. First time on this type of ride. Pretty unique and different. Don't really like the collars. From watching it I was still a bit disoriented when on the ride. Some good thrills, usually going upside down isn't very thrilling to me but I like the way this one goes slow through the inversion and you see (I was in the back) the rest of the train going through it first and then there is a pretty nice drop. Thumbs up, want to ride it again but the line does seem pretty slow moving.
  12. I just saw that on the local papers website. I might try and right it opening Thursday! In the papers story on this though they wrote "The coaster represents the second phase of SeaWorld's new Ocean Explorer attraction, which has as its centerpiece a three-minute submarine ride that gives riders the sense of being deep-sea explorers." Aren't they referencing the Submarine quest ride and isn't that SBNO? I don't even see it listed online as an attraction, never seen it open, and it's never listed as a closed attraction at the parking entrance.
  13. I went to check out the seven seas food festival with my girlfriend who got sick on saturday (absolutely not food related, she has a chronic condition) and didn't eat much and had to go home early. This left me with basically two 15 item punch cards and wine tasting all for myself which I wen back and finished off on Sunday since she only had a one day pass and still wasn't feeling well. I was very impressed, and the other guests I chatted with also were very impressed by the food festival. Things I ended up getting twice, the candied bacon cheesecake, the grilled lamb slider, the warm brie and duck confit, the potato ravioli, and the Jamaican Spare rib. Also really liked the lamb chop lollypop and cave-aged humboldt fog cheese. On Saturday around 11 AM the new metal detectors caused a huge security line that took around 30 minutes to get through with lots of walking. Sunday I showed up a bit later than that but there was no line. Electric Eel was doing test launches with employee volunteers. Looks fun, they sounded like they were having a blast. I learned that I guess when its busier they only let the quick queue leave things in the cubby on Manta. I had a small bag with 2 cups in it and didn't get stopped at the entrance but at the ride they made me use a locker, but let me come back up the quick queue line so I didn't have to wait again.
  14. How are the weekday spring break lines? Was thinking of heading to the park to try and ride Manta on my lunch break but figured there would be a line making it impossible. Last week I got in 2 rides on my lunch break.
