  1. Maybe I'm being too critical, but does anyone else hate that the tracks are 2 different colors for West Coast Racers? I mean, there aren't 2 different colors on a racetrack. Or 2 different colors on the road. Is it me? Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited for it, but idk. Wouldn't it have been a much nicer, gray with black supports? Besides, the trains are the star of this show! Am I stupid? Lol
  2. I'm open! Just kidding. I'm open! Just kidding. Now! Just kidding. Right now! Just kidding. NOW! Stop. VID_20180526_174153.mp4
  3. Stopped by the park today for a few hours before I had to drive back to Los Angeles. I was in the park for 4 hours and in that time, Railblazer was not running, nor testing. There were some workers doing stuff to the trains themselves in the station, but wasn't able ride this visit ☹. Hopefully next visit, I'll report some better news!
  4. I was at the park this evening. Railblazer was tested, but never opened. I am only in town until tomorrow, but I will be visiting the park again. I'll let you all know if it opens!
  5. Had a chance to check out Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk the other day. Here are my thoughts! First off, let me just say, this place is perfect for die hard amusement park enthusiasts. It was everything I love about amusement parks. The sights; the food (which there is tons of!); great selection of flat rides; rickety, old awesome woodie; boardwalk games; hell, it even smelled a perfect balance of cotton candy, funnel cake and greasy oil. It couldn't have been more perfect. It's also equal parts museum as it is amusement park. The history and stories surrounding some of the parks best attractions and items make it a must visit for any enthusiast. I have nothing but love for this place. It was perfect environment and has everything that makes amusement parks great. A high recommendation if you are in the area. The Giant Dipper is a must ride for coaster credit and that alone is enough to visit. But there is so much more! Front of the Boardwalk. There are actually several entrances. The utilization of space here was quite impressive. With all of the rides and food locations, along with games, caricature drawings, tables, benches and shops, there is a LOT packed in. But it never felt cramped or busy. Some find these cheap thrills, lame. I do not. I love them! Lame animatronics, cheap scares and all. World famous Giant Dipper. A very special credit! Undertow was a fantastic ride. A nice, visually wonderful addition!
  6. On another note. Dino Island 4D was the DUMBEST experience. It was aggressive, the animation was terrible and the entire thing was something I'd have expected to see in like, an arcade. One of those single rider experiences, ya know? The attendant was caught a little off guard when I exited. He asked, "so how was it?" "Well, it was really stupid and a total waste of time."
  7. Had a chance to visit Six Flags Discovery Kingdom while working in Northern California this week. Here are my thoughts and brief update on the park! First let me point out, that after years and years of visiting random amusement parks, let me just say, I consider myself an expert at getting through security, fast, easy and with no mistakes. Unlike these poor, inexperienced folk, lol. Anyway, on with my day. I was extremely disappointed with the operations at the park. I arrived 30 minutes before park opening and many of the rides were not even testing by park opening. The Joker, Wonder Woman, Medusa and Kong were all closed when the park opened. There were no staff members/attendants at any of these rides when the park opened. At least in The Joker and Wonder Woman's case, they did not even finishing testing and open until an hour and half after the park opened. Superman was opened, which is where everyone headed to, including myself. Kudos to the attendants at Superman. They were fast, efficient and loaded every single seat. Dispatch was quick and they were even helping people with their loose belongings to keep things nice and speedy. I very much enjoyed Superman and the team operating it. I got to interact with some of the animals they have after Superman (waiting for the other rides to open.) Last year when I visited, there were 2 walruses and this year, they only had one. I asked the attendant about it and unfortunately one of them passed away a few months ago. He said that they are currently searching for another but I was told if they can't find one soon, the one they do have will go somewhere else. Walruses are very social animals, so they like to have more than one. Sad to hear this A few more animals. Finally, got to The Joker and Wonder Woman. Definitely the go to rides at this park. It would've been a shame had they been closed all day. Because they are both fantastic! I love this station. It's ugly and chaotic. Just like Mr. J. Also hit up Boomerang. I'm so sick of these, but like an Alzheimer's patient, when I see one, I think "That could be fun!" Nope. Love this picture. Is this thing ever open? I mean, it was closed the entire day and it was also closed the entire day last time I visited. Maybe I'm just unlucky? It looks fun! I'd love to ride it someday. I did get to eventually eat something. Six Flags food is never known for quality or taste, but something they do up right, is the pizza. It's cheesy, it's huge and awesome. I usually do not eat at Six Flags, but if I do, I always go for the pizza. Unfortunately, they weren't fully staffed or prepared for what is still considered the spring break crowds. The wait to get food was almost an hour, they had only one window open and staff was very slooooooooow. Also got to ride Medusa and Sky Screamer. I was a bit annoyed but the ride attendant at Sky Screamer. He kept talking really stupid and even the people in line were pretty annoyed. One young man kept covering his ears and rolling his eyes. Everytime people would board, the attendant asked "Are you guys ready? Let me hear you!" They would all scream "Yea!" Then he'd say "I can't hear you, are you ready!" And they'd scream "Yea!!!" Then he'd say "I still can't hear you! Scream if you're ready!" And everyone would annoyingly say "Yes!! Start the ride!" Also, quote of the day goes to a kid in line for Wonder Woman. He says "God! This line is like...5 years long!" Well, that was my day. No pictures or updates on Harley Quinn Coaster because it's basically 0 progress. Not even gone vertical, but based on the location, it's going to be a VERY TIGHT SQUEEZE. I'll be interested to see how it all looks when it's completed.
  8. I actually think RR is one of the more comfortable stand ups. Great ride! Even though, it definitely could use a station refurb. Maybe a comic Riddler theme!
