  1. Ha! Yes, you're right. I was guessing. Finding that big difference in VA versus all the others seemed like something that could relate. The different height requirements, not just here but internationally like with Joris, are really interesting.
  2. Thanks StarWars ... and I agree with you on Ireland. At the end of my post, I mentioned about a solid shooter dark ride ... maybe even trackless, so it would easily fit the area, adds to the overall architecture and of course, it's quiet. I don't see the Drachen Fire site ever being used again. It's too off the beaten path ... unless they made a new train station stop. Problem mostly solved.
  3. Can confirm. I did it too. To this day, it's the longest I've ever waited ... by a few hours. Edit: at KD
  4. In this center of this pic ... that flat twist! Love it. The entire area looks really good. Thank you BGW and Chuck (I really appreciated the Alp testing pic).
  5. Got to thinking about RMC breaking 200 ft. with The Roller Coaster Formerly Known as Mean Streak. It makes sense IMO. Here's my quick and dirty concept to see what that looks like. Mean Streak RMC 200 ft barrier
  6. I really wish other parks would follow suit, especially a certain competing park that not only won't let you carry on any loose items, but makes you put EVERYTHING including your phone in a fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo, go through a metal detector ... It can be a war zone underneath their coasters - at least one in particular. I got firsthand experience working HRRR years ago. They're less contained from public walks than Disney, but I totally agree that it's way too extreme today. Items secured in Velcro / button / zipper pockets are rarely an issue. You're not living until cell phones whiz by your head and find new life as mosaic art pieces. Lots of close calls in the walkway enter/exit and queue.
  7. Amazing trip report! I must find a boldikus or coasterbill kinda buddy. I love marathons on great coasters. You helped me remember my love for visiting parks again, so HUGE thank you. I owe you a beer for it. Many years ago, I had passes to both parks. I used to pass KD all the time and take the extra hour drive to BGW. Today, I have a lot of catching up to do! I haven't been to either park in years from moving around to other states. I rode Dominator @GL, so I'm glad it's close by. I305 is calling my name. And sorry about your Grizzly bite. That tunnel stretch is the best part of the ride IMO ... insane. Very glad it all worked out.
  8. KD is my home park, so I was inspired to join and have fun with this. I thought of a few different layouts in a short time, but went with this for max thrills. I actually like Hurler. It was different than most wooden coasters, but whatever happens is cool. Edit: Totally forgot about the Top Gun Stall ... so that could replace an airtime hill. Aerial concept of a RMC'd Hurler using existing foundations and structure.
