  1. Twisted Cyclone photos from today! Looks like 95% of track work is done. 3 cranes still onsite.
  2. 3 new additions? Here is what I am thinking: 1) Scrambler: Look at a Fidget spinner and look at an old fashion Scrambler ride. Yep, too close. Spins and has 3 arms! Shake, Rattle, and Roll returns! 2) RMC Cyclone: Construction has started and is looking more like it. 3) Hurricane Harbor addition: Needed badly What do you think? Less than 2 days before we know for sure.
  3. Visited park today and not much happening on Cyclone. First thing, there are 2 cranes still onsite. The stress or tie cables on the first drop side are removed from the center ties down. They are just hanging down. They removed 2 small sections of track to let the cranes inside. There is a section of wheels that is sitting on top of the track between the storage shed and station. Also, it appears track has been removed from the station. RMC? Maybe? Track possible removed from station? Some sort of wheel assembly
  4. The justice league takes up about a quarter of an acre. The disturbed area is 1.6 acres. There is some grade work towards the old Viper station. I believe it will face Superman, thus there is a need to clear more land.
  5. Look, they tore down the Bumper Cars and put up the JL:BFM in 1 hour! Nice fit everyone! JL: BFM has arrived.
  6. First thing, there is not much land to clear for a JL:BFM ride. Why start now where demolition and site prep is minimal. Now, if you look at Google Maps, there is plenty of land (not huge) behind the bumper cars and behind the old Viper station. Good space for a coaster. If this will be a S&S coaster, it could go behind the bumper cars over the behind the train maintenance shed. Again, it won't take 8 months to build one of those. Think about Goliath construction. Started in mid summer with the Great Gasp closing. There were construction markings for the footers already mid summer. If anyone is on the train of the Superman path, see if there are any signs of survey markings. This can get us some idea. If this will be a large coaster which I doubt, you will see tree removal potential and clearing going on by fall time. Potential rides/coasters for the area: JL:BFM - Would fit perfect in the spot. Metropolis City folks! Still wondering why start now. S&S Freespin: Would fit and would be a clone of Great Adventure. Still wondering why start now. Narrow footprint. RMC T-Rex: Only concept been scene. This would be a great addition if they can add a launch element to it. RMC Wood: Could fit a RMC coaster like LR or Outlaw Run. B&M: Long shop for a drop or floorless. Mack Water Coaster: Room for this and can go over 60mph. Launch type as well.
  7. Walking up carousel hill, there are many trees marked for removal. I am thinking Splashwater Falls to be removed and a RMC T Rex coaster to go where the falls is and up the hill and out behind the bumper cars. The T Rex is a new concept from RMC using a single rail. I would like this options more than a 4D coaster. Also, some trees were removed around mine train as well.
  8. Slashwater Falls opened 30 years ago, so it will be 30+. If you look at the Joker 4D coaster at Great Adventure, it is narrow but long footprint. It would fit in the space.
  9. Had my first experience on Blue Hawk (aka Ninja). First thing you will notice is the nice blue paint job. Grey supports are fine, but the blue shows up great. The Ninja statues are gone and probably dumped in the boneyard. Paint job on the stations was grey, red, white and blue. The noon opening was for Military troops and their families. I went over to Scream Machine and noticed the line was open about 12:45. The line took about 15 minutes. They were running 1 train like most of the park today. Crowds overall were not bad. The noise is very minimal. The new wheels to track friction did not create much noise at all. They were placing us in specific rows. I was in Row 9 (14 rows total). They will make everyone take off their glasses including ones with retainer cords. Funny statement on the safety board is for ear jewelry to be removed. That would of been a great rule for Ninja. The lift hill was still pretty slow like the old one. There is some shaking on the first 2 loops. No head banging, just a shake and jerk. Not awful at all. The 3rd loops was very smooth. Corkscrew was great and ride ended up being 100 times better than the old Vekoma and Arrow trains. Will ride it every visit now. I am curious if Blue Hawk will get the virtual headsets in the future (2017?).
  10. Got to park at opening time and went to LR. Park crowds were light today. They still have the not operating today sign on the door, but an employee told us that it may or may not operate today. They had both trains on this track with first train stopped before the launch hill and other in the station. My family went on and rode Thunderhead, MM, Firechaser and Wild Eagle. It was on Wild Eqgle that we noticed a train full of people launched up. Went to LR right before noon and found both trains testing. After a 15 minute wait, they let a group up to the station. The 2nd train left with no issues. The next train had some dispatch issues and was sent empty. We boarded on the 3rd train and the launch was much faster than it looks. The speed was crazy! Ejector airtime all through it and never slowed down. I did not have to lap bar too tight which added to the experience. There was a RMC employee on site and employee training was going on as well. The seats have a seatbelt and lap/foot restraint. Comfortable even during the 90 degree bank turns. Can't wait to ride at night.
  11. Just opened for guest and running both trains! Great ride!
  12. Have the new Blue Hawk (aka Ninja) trains been put on the track? If so, has testing begun.
