  1. If WDW could upgrade to Disneyland's Pirates, even that would be a stellar improvement.
  2. My problem with Michigan's Adventure isn't the small selection of rides, it's the horrendous park operations. We cannot expect MiAdv to get new rides very often. It's located in a rather small market. When I last visited there I was disgusted with the park operations (typical me). Shivering Timbers had a seriously obxious crew that was slow as molasses. I remember the day when the Shivering crew would dispatch a train as soon as the other train headed into the helix. Now, you'd be lucky if the new passengers started locking their seatbelts at that point. This happened repeatedly. An 1 hour, 10 minute wait with only one switchback. That was when I bought Fast Lane for $45. Then there's Wolverine Wildcat. It only has one train. But why does the park only have ONE (1) person checking lapbars and seatbelts? That's one person for BOTH sides. One dispatch took 8 minutes long, thanks in part to a guest that was so obese she couldn't fit into the seatbelt. One train on Thunderhawk, which resulted in probably in a two hour wait. I didn't even bother with Fast Lane since I would have taken at least 45 minutes with the extra large station. I will return to MiAdv only for Shivering Timbers. It's still an amazing ride even after 20 years. I would hope that the park would invest in a second train for Wolverine Wildcat. Its a good enough coaster that warrants it.
  3. While the coaster looks a bit on the flat side, the immersive themeing and all the different elements, including all the moments of twistiness, and its length will more than make up for it. Looks like quite an adventure. Never I thought I'd say I'm looking forward to this - but I am!
  4. When is the best time of the summer to hit Canada's Wonderland to avoid huge crowds? Asking for a friend.
  5. OMG!! This looks SO AWESOMELY EPIC!! I don't think Kennywood could have announced a better looking coaster.
  6. The website has been updated and Desperado is open 5 days a week.
  7. I can't say for sure with Six Flags Magic Mountain. Whenever I go there the slow dispatch times seem to always annoy me. But I will say that the operations at Six Flags Great America on the two days I went this year were stellar! Probably the BEST operations I have seen at any Six Flags park - hands down. Everything was operating efficiently and smoothly - with only the occasional breakdown. Of course, it helped that I purchased Fast Lane but I noticed that Raging Bull was operating with three trains and rarely did the trains stack at all. American Eagle was operating both sides with trains and no waits as a result. Goliath and Joker were operating at very efficient dispatch times. I enjoyed my first day at the park so much that I decided to go back another day instead of driving down to Indiana Beach. If all Six Flags operated like this - they could all be first rate parks.
  8. Were there any coaster closures this past weekend? I'm about to send a friend there for the first time and I would like to know if the trip will be worth it. I know he'll be wanting to ride Outlaw Run. Thanks
  9. Haven't you been on Goliath at SFMM or Titan at SFOT? Those are super-long Helix-type rides.

  11. Carowinds is a OK park. Not great. It has one phenomenal - out of this world - coaster with Fury 325, two excellent steel coasters with Intimidator and Afterburn, and seven less than average or truly awful coasters (Nighthawk, Hurler, Vortex, Carolina Cyclone, Carolina Goldrusher, Ricochet and their Boomerang). Fury alone makes the park worth recommending. Carowinds will seriously benefit from giving Hurler the RMC treatment, and turning Vortex into a floorless coaster. So glad to hear Robb loved Fury 325! I was shocked to learn I had a new Number 1 steel after I rode it. Its such an amazing, mindblowing ride.
  12. Last year Labor Day Saturday and Sunday were moderately busy but not too bad, and Labor Day itself was mostly dead. I'd hit Mad Mouse, North Star, Renegade, and Xtreme Swing early since those can get decent lines, other than that everything else shouldn't be more than a 15 minute wait. Was Excalibur open over Labor Day last weekend? Planning on going this Labor Day. Just wondering what I should expect.
