  1. Its funny, I had almost the same exact day as you! Arrived at 11am to the backups, went straight to Toro and did the same loop. I even went to that new restaurant you were at! I went alone and on my first ride on El Toro, some random guy sat next to me who I found out was at the park alone too. He turned out to be a fellow enthusiast (not with TPR or ACE). So it was great meeting another friendly enthusiast. Overall a great day in the park with the lines getting long around 2 or 3.
  2. Just wanted to a share a throwback story from about 2/3 years ago. On one insanely crowded day the line for Nitro was over an hour long. There were a lot of line cutters that day for some reason, more than 5 people passed us in a span of 10 minutes. So my friends and I were standing in the queue right in front of Nitro's turn from the station to the lift when these line cutters passes us. For those not familiar with Nitro's queue, right around Nitro's first turn (that covered section right under Nitro's first turn), there is this high fence/wall with a horizontal cutout at the top at eye level. As the line cutters walked toward that section of the queue, I noticed two eyes staring at the line cutters through that horizontal cutout in the fence. When the line cutters made that right turn, a security was standing there and escorted them out of the queue. So basically, the security guard was standing in the perfect spot to catch line cutters! You couldn't tell it was a guard from the small opening in the fence. Plus it was kind of hilarious seeing the eyes through the fence. It was a pretty great moment seeing the line cutters get caught by such a genius security guard. Next time anyone is at the park, check out the fence on in Nitro's queue where I mentioned and check out the perfect spot for security guards!
  3. Hey everyone, long time lurker here. I had an interesting experience today at the park. My sister and I arrived at 6:00pm and every ride was a walk-on. Because of this, we went on Superman, which I usually skip. Our train was full of middle school aged kids and after one lap, they started chanting "One More Time!" over and over as the train pulled into the station. My sister and I didn't partake since we knew their chanting wasn't going to do anything since every seat aisle was full. But the attendants checked out restraints again and let us go another lap even though there were a lot of people waiting in the line. I mean it was pretty great for us but I've never seen that happen at any park lol. Just thought it would be fun to share.
  4. Hey everyone! I'm going on my first cruise this summer on the Norwegian Gem! Do you guys have any tips or comments about the Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Cruise Line I should know about?
  5. ^ Even though Six Flags is not behind the plans for the hotel according to the article, is the location of the hotel on Six Flags' property? It looks like it would be, being across from Hurricane Harbor but you never know. The article makes it seem like city officials are planning this without Six Flags involvement. I'm guessing it could be without their involvement because the site could not be on Six Flags property but I have no idea.
  6. From what I can tell it would be built in the parking lot, and then parking garages added. *edit* - it looks like it would only take up half the parking lot! Based on the concept art it looks like it won't be built in the parking lot at all. I circled the area where I think it will be built in red. Concept Art and Location
  7. I found an article about 'Jackson Officials' planning a hotel near Six Flags Great Adventure. Based on the concept art it looks like it will be across from Hurricane Harbor. It's cool seeing students from my college submitted concepts for the hotel! http://www.app.com/article/20130819/NJNEWS/308190088/Jackson-hotel-plans-bring-vision-new-look-lower-taxes?nclick_check=1
  8. ^ This is the Six Flags America (Maryland) thread not the Six Flags Great America (Illinois) Thread.
  9. I went to SFA for the first time a few weeks ago. Superman: ROS was great a little rough but still great! I wasn't sure about Joker's Jinx but I liked it. It barely made it over one of the turns Apocalypse was rough. Roar was my favorite coaster there! It was rough but I didn't think it was that bad. I went on multiple times and it was great! (My third GCII). Overall it was a great weekend.
  10. Fly - The Great Nor'Easter at Morey's Pier. The new trains help but its still an SLC. The vibrations were so intense. I could barely walk down the exit stairs.
  11. Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure. I wish they didn't 'transform' it into Bizarro. I loved the old color scheme! I miss you Medusa!
