  1. Visited the park today and had a nice time! Was nice to see Lightning Rod operating and running 2 trains. Sadly, food operations are still struggling. I feel like this year’s Christmas decor was less than previous seasons, though. Looking forward to 2022 and hopeful for a “normal” season next year. I did notice some work being done on River Rampage. Maybe it’s getting a much needed refurb?
  2. New “multi-generational” coaster will debut in 2023, according the The Mountain Press. Any ideas what “multi-generational” means? I can’t see the full article, unfortunately. https://www.themountainpress.com/news/dollywood-plans-new-multigenerational-coaster-talks-resorts/article_ab781380-8900-57a9-a29d-ad92d4d2ec14.html
  3. I couldn’t agree more with the comment on the parking lot’s current condition. The entire lot, with the exception of the preferred lot, needs to be repaved and repainted. We are constantly trying to determine if we are actually parking in a legit space or an old faded space that has been repurposed. Faded lines, potholes, and old standing water puddles are not welcoming as a first impression when arriving at the park.
  4. That’s the type of pony ride I was suspecting and thought one of the blueprint spots looked like it would be for this type ride. Until I read some comments on social media mentioning live pony rides at Dollywood, it never crossed my mind that this would ever be an option at such a busy park. I’m truly hoping that Dollywood doesn’t try using live ponies. I know a few of the larger park resort areas offer live ponies, but I personally think it’s a terrible idea and I foresee lots of issues with it.
  5. Can someone explain what a “pony track” is? Surely this isn’t live ponies, right?
  6. Drop Line opens May 5. http://www.wbir.com/news/local/dolly-parton-show-dollywood-ride-to-debut-may-5/434028362
  7. Plot twist: It's actually perfectly fine and they're just doing this to build up hype. Dolly will be back at the park on May 6, 7. I would guess that could be the next target date.
  8. However... it has been announced that Dolly will be the park 3/24. That could be the magic day.
  9. From Dollywood's homepage: Lightning Rod will not be open to the general public at this time due to extended ride commissioning. Lightning Rod is an innovative ride featuring new technology never before used on a wooden coaster. The ride manufacturer asked for additional time to commission the ride. Keep watching Dollywood.com for future updates.
  10. It doesn't appear Dolly will be at the park this weekend either, if that tells you anything...
