  1. It depends on how much the water has receded, but generally when it floods they shut down Shockwave/Runaway Mine Train. I saw the pictures of water up around Texas Giant yesterday, though, so if it were me, I'd probably wait until a day when I knew for sure it would be open.
  2. There are a few rides from Astroworld that I wish I could ride again. Mainly Texas Cyclone, Taz's Texas Tornado & Viper. I also miss Cliffhanger/Wildcatter from SFOT. I love the first gen freefall rides. So much fun!
  3. I'm like most people here and keep it light. I usually just bring my ID, debit card & season pass, keys and cell phone. Sometimes I need advil or other random small knick knacks, so I will wear a small bag on my waist (smaller than a fanny pack), but usually if it doesn't fit in my pockets, I don't take it in the park.
  4. I'm so happy that Shockwave is open again! Going to have to make a trip up to SFOT soon for sure.
  5. Great trip report so far! I always love seeing my home parks from the perspective of someone not from Texas/America. Can't wait to see more pictures.
  6. ^^ I was wondering the same thing. They've had those scanners for a while now, SFFT has them too. I've been wondering when they were going to start using them. I think it's a great idea, personally.
  7. I'm so excited for Fright Fest this year!! I wish I wasn't such a baby when it comes to actual haunted houses/mazes, because I really want to see how they are. I'll just have to rely on the reviews and info from others, lol. I'm definitely interested in the shows and new scare zones. I went to FF last year and while I thought that the theming was better than it had been in the past (especially the Rockville area), the scare zones seemed pretty sparse in the way of scare actors. I remember two or three guys in Crackaxle, a few zombies in Rockville and a couple of trolls under the bridge from Los Festivales to Spassburg. It would be nice to see the zones a bit more populated since they seem to be really trying to step things up a notch. It's good timing, if you ask me. Since Nightmare on Grayson (long running San Antonio haunt) closed last year, there is definitely less competition. I've never been to Sea World for their haunt, but they are supposedly changing things up quite a bit this year too. I'm curious to see how SFFT and SW compare with one another. EDIT: I happened across this on Youtube. Preview for Creature Feature 2013, for those interested in shows: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  8. This is really off topic, but I was wondering if anyone here could remember the name of the ride/video that used to be in the FX Theater back in the late 90s. It was circus or carnival themed. I've been trying for ages to find a video of it or something because I absolutely loved it when I was a kid.
  9. A new addition to White Water Bay is definitely a good move for SFFT. Texas love their water parks. The slides do look fun, and I look forward to trying them out next year.
  10. ^^ I came on here to post the same thing. Man, I miss that ride. I miss Texas Tornado, too. That thing blew my mind as a kid.
  11. Intamin drop towers are fantastic, but I think I lean more towards S&S overall. I like the "bounciness" of them. "I really do like the first generation Intamin free fall towers, though. Texas Cliffhanger/Wildcatter at SFOT used to be my favorite ride when I was a kid. The drop on that thing was amazing.
  12. Planning on heading to the park tomorrow with my dad who hasn't been in a few years. I know that tomorrow is a bring-a-friend free coupon day, so I'm a little worried about crowds. Did anyone here go to the park today or yesterday? If so, what were the crowds like?
