  1. So I just had a thought of building up a recreation of Hersheypark. CPGemini08 inspired me to do so with his Gatekeeper Rec. that I thought "Why not make a recreation with all of the little details inside." Something that previous recreations I've seen of the park lacked. This isn't a normal recreation though, there is also a story line to spice it up a bit. It's the longest storyline I've ever written for one single update, so I hope you all enjoy reading it. ______________________________________________________________________ Spending my weekend stuffed up inside of a car moving to southern Pennsylvania isn't what I had in mind, but my dad recently got promoted, and was stationed in Philadelphia. I wasn't depressed about leaving my friend's behind in Tampa, or that I had to leave the tropical atmosphere and adapt to a newer more temperate zone. It was leaving my favorite amusement park behind. Busch Gardens was where I spent most of my childhood, I'm a rollercoaster fanatic so I knew every make and model of every single ride. Now what do I have to go to? The suburban sprawl, never to see another amusement park, let alone a fairground ride again? "Dad, where exactly is our house?" "It's just 50 miles outside of Philly." "What's the landscape?" "Theres a few suburbs scattered about, mostly countryside though. Guess what though?" "What?" "Theres a park nearby in the town of Hershey." Now, I always thought that Hershey was just a big name chocolate brand, but I never knew there was a town named after it, but it didn't stop there, a theme park was built in the town and it was pretty sizable. "Could we possibly stop in for a quick look?" "I don't know... I guess we could use a 'rest stop.'" Soon I was on my way in the park, until I got to the main ticket building. All of the surrounding architecture was themed to a 1500s style English plaza. The ticket building was a large castle. This was as far as I could go without actually entering the park. As I was leaving something else caught my eye. It was a tall yellow Intamin Mega-Lite. It had weird cars though. Little did I know this would start a new family tradition. __________________________________________________________________________ Next time I should hopefully get a bit of Comet Hallow in depending of if its completed or not.
  2. I always thought that Oakwood Park (If anyone here remembers) was the best park I ever made. Looking back on it now, there were flaws with it compared to how I build now. I decided to revamp it with the same attractions, just built differently. So here it is... _____________________________________________ Oakwood Amusement Park: Update 1 Deep in the woods of New York is Oakwood Amusement Park... Well not really, the park sits on a large plot of land in New York. It has been here for quite a while now, and oh what a journey it has been. I'll give you the full story as we go on a park tour. Lucky for you it's spring testing, so there are no people blocking the picture. The entrance isn't the biggest, it was recently renovated to carry a larger guest capacity, especially with a major population center just an hour and a half away. Market street was here when the park originally opened. Back then it only had 2 buildings, now it has 5. For today we will turn left on the junction in Market Street to proceed into Country Town. The parks first coaster Century resides in the area. Century was built here in the 70's as a clone coaster to Shockwave at Six Flags Over Texas. It is one of 3 coasters to use the 'box' style Schwarzkopf track. In 1994 though, it was threatened with removal when a teenager was climbing below the track, and got his hand chopped off by a passing train. Across the pathway is Sawmill Falls, the only water based attraction in the park. It's great during summer, but no one likes to ride it during spring. Too cold I would guess. Also in this area are numerous flat rides, mainly for those who either don't want the thrill of a coaster, or want a better experience than a coaster can offer. Oh dear me, I've forgotten to introduce myself! I'm Charles Yule owner of this extraordinary park, I should hope to see you all again for our next update in the second section of the park.
  3. Thanks guys! ____________________________________________________ So even after a month no one has come foreward to purchase EAP. The owners will give it 2 more months, but they aren't very confident. There may only be a few more rides for me on Sasquatch. I asked one of my friends who happened to fly out of Seattle to take an overview photo of the park. I cropped out the forest. And by request, I've captured a POV of Sasquatch. Amazingly there aren't very many on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pJifh1byzo Sorry for the music. It was the only track I had that fit, and was free.
  4. Thanks for the kind replies everyone! _________________________________________ Breaking news today as Andy and Isabella Wilf file for bankruptcy. The Wilfs own a small amusement park in central Washington. They have told us unless a buyer is found the park will be demolished and made into a nature center. Will we ever hear people walking and talking down the walkways? Will Sasquatch have a future as a famous coaster? Or will it become a pile of scrap? ______________________________________________ I'm sorry if this is getting a bit repetitive with updates. There isn't anything else to show, just a story to tell.
  5. Thanks guys! ________________________________________________________________ There are rumors spreading of the park owners going bankrupt. If this is true then it could mean either new ownership or closure. It was a clear day today, but Sasquatch was broken down for a majority of it. Crowds ceased soon after. There are some other rides in the park. Wild Fire is a great family attraction. The Carousel is a classic. And it fits nicely behind the gift shop.
  6. Evergreen Amusement Park sits in the woods of Washington State. It's just 2 hours out of Seattle, and one of the only parks in Washington. This is the area that gets the most attention in the park right now. There was supposed to be an expansion last year but the owners fell into money trouble. I really love this building for some reason. It just grabs my attention. Sasquatch is the only operating coaster in the park, but it really is a unique ride. Nothing more to show back here. The queue entrance to Sasquatch(yes my signage sucks) a restaurant, and a gift shop. A great view of the area from the outdoor eatery built into a hill.
  7. That all depends on what they're updating on. If its just another day in the park then that can be a daily update. If it's construction then it should take 2+ days.
  8. It's not necessary to post an update every day. It makes your park look rushed. Sometimes it takes a couple days.
  9. I'm guessing Goliath is a CT. Your editing looks superb. I like how you edit everything, even the grass.
  10. You seem very keen to release something new. There are a few suggestions I have. 1. Add some vegetation around the building, it makes it look less bland and more interesting as a whole. 2. Add some path covers, they allow curves and diagonals. 3. That arch looks like it will fall over, not because of lack of support, but because they don't have the filler piece. These few suggestions could go a long way in creating a great detailed park, along with improving your building skills.
  11. ^ Don't double post. Just edit your post. Obviously you didn't read the rules very well.
  12. I like how you're incorporating rct2 coaster names into this park. The designs are beautiful, but it could use a little touching up in some places.
  13. Trust me I know how it feels, but just keep going! This is a great park revival/story park.
