  1. Oh wow... no impressions yet? Was really looking forward to seeing what the community thinks!
  2. Where do you see the videos at? I haven't seen any of them unfortunately....
  3. Is Hersheypark usually packed on Labor Day weekend? Thinking about taking my nephews either Saturday or Sunday, but I don't want to grind out the long lines.
  4. I was there on Sunday as well. I went at about 6pm and had an absolute blast! There were no lines at all. At about 8pm I went back for my second ride on Skyrush and it was so empty that the ride attendants were letting me stay on the train to continue riding without having to go back through the line. I got about 8 rides in and was able to try many different seats throughout the train including my first ever front seat ride. The back row is still where it's at and I actually prefer the right wing. Such an incredible coaster! It was also nice to be able to basically walk right on to Fahrenheit. I really enjoy it, but the rattling kind of brings it down a notch or two for me. I've noticed the closer to the front that you sit the less noticeable the rattle is, but it is still there unfortunately. Lastly, I'm glad to hear that you had such a good time at the park. I live in Hershey and grew up spending my entire summer at the park so it's obviously a very special place for me. I have to agree that they do have a nice lineup of coasters and after Skyrush I am very excited to see what they do next.
  5. I have to agree about the lap bar pads. I've ridden it 3 times now (twice on Saturday and once on Sunday), and it seems to get worse with every ride. Also, even if you leave yourself a little room for comfort at dispatch, the lap bar becomes tighter during the ride. It was actually quite painful on my last ride. I'd love to see Hershey respond and make some adjustments, but I'd be surprised if they did. I'll still ride it either way
  6. Just got home from the park a little while ago. Skyrush was INCREDIBLE. Admittedly, I haven't rode as many coasters as a lot of you here, but Skyrush is definitely unlike anything I have ever experienced. The amount of airtime is awesome! Also, speed is not an issue through the second half of the layout. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to take a middle seat (in the very back) and I suspect the stengel dive was not as "intense" because of that. I really think Hershey and Intamin outdid themselves on this one though. Just a really intense, fantastic, unique experience! I have absolutely no criticism of this ride whatsoever. I cannot wait to ride it again (and am considering heading back over at some point today to get back in line )!
  7. I stopped by the construction site today in hopes they would be testing the ride. There were a few construction guys very close to the fence, so I asked them if they knew when testing would begin. They told me there's a few bugs to work out, but testing could begin as early as "tomorrow or the next day" meaning Thursday or Friday.
  8. i was down at the site for about an hour today. obviously, the last piece of track is in. looks like they finished all of the stone work for the creek walls today (on both sides). they were doing a lot of work on the walking path. seeing people on it made me realize it's a bit wider than it appears, but it's still maybe only about 4 people wide--5 at the most. additionally, they look to be aggressively finishing the concrete "caps" to all of the footers. outside of skyrush work, there was all kinds of other things going on. they were running/testing both the comet and the fahrenheit and there was a guy up on top of the great bear's first loop doing welding work. very busy there today! i can't wait for springtime in the park. i really want to get in there and check out comet hollow and see how everything is coming together!
  9. i really want to get inside the park so i can get a better idea of how big the path is. i keep thinking it's too narrow, but then i also consider that it's hard to tell the exact size of it from outside the part. i also never go over to the site when the construction guys are there, so i never see anyone on the actual path for reference. i'm thinking the path on the other side of the creek is going to be maintenance only. it also seems much wider than the public path (but maybe that's a matter of perspective) which is very strange to me. i think it would have been fairly easy for them to bring the creek wall in (towards the center of the creek) another 10 feet and have the path be much wider, but i'm not an engineer so... lastly, just want to say thanks to Ccron10 for all of the photo updates. i live in town in hershey and go down to the site on a regular basis, but still enjoy seeing your pics. if i ever see a guy with a camera while i'm at the site, i'll be sure to chat him up and find out if it's you
  10. seems like a major oversight to me. i think that path is going to be a clusterf**k this year. everyone is going to want to check that out. on the other hand, they don't have the room to put shops and food stands along there, so perhaps the plan is to encourage people to continue walking up the existing path past all of the shops and food stands...
  11. i think this thing looks great and i can't wait to ride it! on a side note, is it just me or does the new path that will let you walk along the creek seem kind of narrow? i'm judging based on the gravel that has already been laid. any chance it's going to be wider than that?
