  1. I’m planning a trip to 6FMM and Knott’s this winter. I’m hoping for some info on when is the best time to go and if I’ll need 2 days at magic mountain to get all the credits and enjoy the park. Dates are totally flexible and I’m looking for Jan/feb recommendations as I think my Canadian stat holidays might be different and I don’t want to show up to super busy park. Any dates I should straight up avoid? Anything else like restaurants or tourist stuff and such outside the park would also be appreciated
  2. This looks amazing! That has got to be one of the best looking lead cars out there. To bad I wont be headed to Orlando for the Zumba Convention this year. Next year when/if the Canadian dollar is back up I'll b able to return.I want to ride Mako and Cobras Curse but I cant justify the cost. I cant't wait to read the trip reports this summer
  3. I've ridden The Orbiter thousands of times before. It's good, but it's no Twin Flip. I don't remember it being there last time I was there so I was worried about it not being there when I go on Sunday. I guess the spin and puke wasn't popular enough to keep around
  4. Awesome report. I will be headed to the PNE next Sunday. I cant wait for deep fried snacks and rides Oh did you happen to see if they had the Twin Flip ride this year? That one's my favorite flat ride!
  5. ^^ Most of the time I seen kids playing, or people taking photos on the test seats. I never seen anyone actually test it. I seen a few big boys using the middle seats of Kumba with no problems. I didn't know they gave out a pass for walks of shame. That's a good idea for sure, that should make people feel a bit better about it. What I noticed was TONS of empty seats on every train. They really need better groupers, and single rider lines. Thank god I had Quick Que Unlimited so it wasn't holding me back much. I never had anyone sit beside me on Cheetah Hunt, and once on Sheikra there was only 1 other people in my row! When lines are 45mins long, you would think they would try to help capacity. This went for both BGT and SeaWorld. I was the only one in the row on Manta once, and all other times it was just me and my friend in the row. There was a guy grouping people in the stations so I don't know why they were sending out so many empty seats.
  6. Hi everyone! I visited Busch Gardens last week the day before my Zumba convention started. I was staying at the Hyatt Regency so I hopped on the trolley to SeaWorld and took the shuttle to BGT. I bought the unlimited Quick Que so I didn't worry about mapping out my plan for the day. I just followed people to Cheetah Hunt and carried on throughout the park till I had hit all the rides. After that I doubled back and re-rode some and rode the train to see the animals. Overall the park was great! Great coaster selection, cool animals to look at, and the whole place was nicely themed with lots of shade and trees. I usually try to hit parks when I travel. Last year after the convention I hit up Fun Spot then Universal & Islands of Adventure. This year I chose BGT for the day before and SeaWorld for the day after. Next year I'm thinking about hitting Seaworld again for Maku and Universal's new water park and/or Aquatica. Our rooms flags. My friends are from Jordan and The Philippines, but we all live in beautiful Vancouver BC. We came to Orlando for the Zumba Instructor convention, but technically it hadn't started yet so we went to Ben & Jerry's. Waiting to get on the shuttle to BGT. The shuttle went from SeaWorld to Busch Gardens, and it took about an hour and 20 mins. Only thing I didn't like was that it drove us home at 6pm which was a bit early for my liking, but it was free so I won't complain. While driving down the highway I found some of these Mickey Mouse power lines. Montu greets us as the bus pulls into the lot Cheetah Hunt looks amazing! Cheetahs are awesome. My first ride of the day. This ride was fantastic!!! The ride never stopped. I felt like it was almost over and then it kept going. It's the only Intamin ride I have ever ridden and I can't wait to try more of them. Next ride was Montu. I liked this ride a lot. First ride I was in the second row and I wasn't to impressed. Second ride I took in the back and it was amazing! Later in the day I came back for another ride and when the train came back into the station a kid and thrown up all over his restraint. I hope his family brought an extra shirt... Taking a break from the coasters I walked through the trails and found a big aquarium full of cichlids. Here is a blurry hyena. Cheetah Hunt being awesome. I took a look at the care center No animals needing checkups today. I got here just in time to see the elephant This is the first time I've seen an elephant. The trunk really creeped me out. It moved so weirdly. Onwards to Pantopia! Falcon's Fury looked crazy. I didn't ride it, didn't even make it into the line. I'm not big on drop towers. I just watched it cycle a few times and carried on. Cobra looked like a better alternative to the drop tower for me. It was nice to ride with only a lap bar. The one at West Edmonton Mall has those weird should harnesses. It wasn't the best ride, but it's a great family looper. I seen lots of families riding it together. The rain started to come down so I went to get some lunch. The food was standard park food. The clouds parted and the shined down on this glorious piece of machinery This is hands down the best coaster I have ever ridden. I don't understand why it had such a short line all day. I rode it so many times with my Quick Que, but it was never more than station wait in the regular line. Rapids looked good, but I wasn't in a water ride mood. I came upon some weird things.... Nightmare fuel roaming around this area. The flume ride looked good. I wasn't in a water ride mood so I skipped it. FYI Tidal Wave was down for the day. Hello Sheikra! I rode this in each row. I liked this ride. I wish it was a bit longer but it was still great. I watched a guy take the walk of shame. 2 ride ops tried to close his restraint, but it was far from close to closing. Felt kinda bad for him, he waited in the 40 min que for only to be denied. I caught the train in Stanleyville and took a ride through the serengeti plains. Rhinos are cool. Zebras! My favorite print Giraffes and antelope just chilling in the shade. I got off and started my wandering again. The orangutans were huge. Back over to the elephants This tortoise was MASSIVE These flamingos were behind a short fence. They were very friendly little guys. I didn't feed them because I'm not stupid, but I did try to lure them over with my empty hand. It seemed to work pretty well. MUST FIGHT URGE TO PET FLAMINGOS They had a small group of penguins. I love these guys. So cute! "Hey can you turn down the heat please?" Got dinner here. I can't remember what I ordered, so it must not have been that great. I love parrots, I have 2 small ones at home. Here are some baby ducks just because baby ducks are super cute. I found a whole army of sleeping flamingos. They sleep with their necks noodled on their bodies. Follow your nose! These things were awesome The tiger was sleeping both times I went past him. One last pic of Falcon's Fury full tilt. Bye bye Busch Gardens. I will be back someday! When I returned to my hotel the Zumba precon party had already started! Sorry for the long post. I didn't realize I had so many pics.
  7. You can always spot a Zumba instructor! We love our colourful over the top athletic wear We spent a lot of time at The Pointe. We also went to Hooter's and Bahama Breeze. Lots of people I know went down I-Drive on the trolley just to see the sights. We had a great time at our convention! I love meeting new people from different countries. I got my picture with Beto, the creator of Zumba. The hotel staff told us that they look forward to us every year since we're so much fun. What I found funny was the storms. Once the rain came down people would freak out like it was raining acid or something. Maybe it's because I'm from Vancouver and I'm used to 10 months of cold rain per year, but I found the rain refreshing with the intense heat of the day.
  8. All this talk of Maku is making me excited to return to SeaWorld next year! Last week I made my first trip to SeaWorld. After the Zumba convention two of my friends and I ended our trip with a day at the park. We had a lot of fun! I plan on coming back to the park after next years convention. I hope Maku is finished by the end of July Here is a trip report. I took these on my phone so they're not HD We hail from Vancouver BC Canada. There were around 8000 Zumba instructors from all over the world. We had 11 hours of travel time to get to Orlando ZINCON. We really need some direct flights out of YVR. 6 of us came to convention, but only 3 of us stayed for SeaWorld after it was over. Our crew: Ralson, Jenn(Me), and Claudia. Somehow we managed to take a selfie without a selfie stick! It can be done! Manta greets us at the front of the park! My first flying coaster! I liked it but it was not super amazing like I had hoped. Kumba is the best B&M for me still. We then went to the touch pool to pet the rays. These animals are so cool! Next up: Dolphin show. I thought this show was amazing!!! whole show was great from start to end. We checked out the Manatees over at turtle trek. Turtle trek was pretty good. It made Claudia pretty motion sick though. Journey to Atlantis was fun. We got stuck at the top of the last lift hill for a good 10 mins. After Sizzling like bacon while stuck on Atlantas, we went to the Antarctica. The dark ride was pretty lame, but getting to see all the penguins at the end really made this a highlight of the day. Their tank was HUGE. They seemed well taken care of compared to the penguins I have seen in other places that live in warm tempuratures, with small pools. Time for Kraken! We walked up the Quick Que pathway and Claudia tried to chicken out "OMG THERE'S LOOPZ" I pushed her to her seat and she made it on. She did not want to do it again so I rode again in the second to last row by myself. The ride was in my opinion, better than manta. Next up we went to the shark tube. *que Jaws theme* By this time the afternoon storm was rolling in and we had moved inside the gift shops and restaraunt. Here is some Unagi We waited out the rain inside and picked up some souvenirs. Once the downpour slowed down we made our way to Shamu Stadium. This show was great. These animals are so beautiful. Giant SEA PANDAS Not even the rain made us stop enjoying the Shamu show! We rode Wild Arctic next. This ride was obviously pretty old. Not saying it was bad, just needs an update. Maybe HD video to go with the motion simulator. Belugas are pretty sweet. Their heads are to small for their bodies! We stopped at the Dolphin Nursery on our way out. These babies were so cute. I had so much fun at this park, Maku will no doubt make a great addition I also went to Busch Gardens by myself the day before ZINCON. I will post that one in the BGT thread later.
  9. Hi everyone! I am so excited! I will be finally be visiting BGT a week and a half from now. I managed to tag both this and SeaWorld onto my trip to the Orlando Zumba instructor convention. I booked the free shuttle from SeaWorld (thanks for the tip about that guys), bought my tickets and unlimited quick que. Now all that's left is waiting out the clock Since I have the unlimited pass I don't think I need to have a plan to hit all the coasters. I would like to know any tips about good places to eat while there though. Any exceptional place to have dinner and a beer?
  10. Busch Gardens actually offers a FREE bus from a couple places in the Orlando area. https://secure.mearstransportation.com/MearsExpress/BuschGardens.asp Use that link and select your hotel, it should give the spot where you get picked up. I used it in December and it was pretty good, the only disadvantage is that the bus arrives at the park past 11AM, so if you were hoping to get there at opening it probably wont happen. The bus ride is about 1Hr 30 Mins, and if you want to go to BGT I would say it is worth it. Awesome Thanks! I was hoping they had something like this. Even better that it's FREE. Im staying in the Hyatt (Zumba gives us a discount) so I can hop on at the Publix down the road I would prefer to get there at opening, but I don't mind buying the express pass (or whatever they call it) if the lines are long when I get there. Im going on a Monday, so hopefully it's not to busy. Now I have Seaworld AND BGT planned out. I have a half day free left. Maybe I'll check out Fun Spot again if the Air Race and gators are open. So excited!
  11. Hey guys I have just booked my flight to Orlando in August. I am attending the Zumba instructor convention and I plan on getting to a couple parks while I'm in the area. I like to plan ahead and have all my park tickets paid for well before I leave. I was really hoping to get to BGT. I'm staying on I-Drive in Orlando and I was wondering if there is any kind of shuttle or bus I can take to Tampa? I don't have a license so I can't rent a car. Will it be a big hassle to get Tampa? Is BGT worth the long trip?
  12. ^ I agree with the airtime hill making the difference. Fire wins in my mind, but Ice was still pretty solid. The blue side was my B&M ever, to bad I never got to ride it when it was dueling
  13. I was at Fun Spot on Monday and I have to say it was a nice little park. I had about half the day to kill between cheking out of my convention centre hotel and into my cheaper, closer to Universal Studios hotel. I have to say I really liked this little park! I walked around and had a look at everything before getting my ride on White Lightening. I loved White Lightning! It was so much for for such a small coaster. It had so much speed! I would have ridden the junior hang-and-bang, but I didn't feel like spending another 9$ on a ride when I don't really count credits. It looked great though. The go-kart tracks were awesome. I have never really been into go-karting, but these ones made me consider riding. This little park reminded me of my home park Playland in Vancouver, very carnival-ish just a bit smaller in size. If I'm ever in Orlando again, I would love to check out the Screamin' Swing
  14. I am really excited about this park. Next time I am in Las Vegas (probably next year) I will definitely be checking it out!
  15. It was a fun way to start the long weekend! I can't wait to see it on YouTube later
