All right, here's one: my friend, who is 18 and a freshman in college, suddenly decides that she's going to buy a house.Without any roommates, just her own house. She's completly serious about it. And it's not a small, one either. Let's review the ridiculousness of this, shall we? Houses start at $70,000 at the very very least, plus taxes, insurance, gas/electrical, etc. She works a minimum wage job, the bank would never give her a loan because she doesn't make enough, and there's no way she would be able to afford a house anytime soon, even she saved for a long time. I know it's not really my business what she does, and it's not my place to act like her mother, but I'm really concerned about it...When I asked her how she was going to pay for everytihng, she goes, "Oh, I just have to find the money first", like it would take a couple weeks to come up with money to buy a house. I mean, I'm sure college students have bought their own house before, but without any roommates? Oh well, she'll figure it out eventually. Especially when her parents find out....
