  1. All these results are really useful, thanks guys Keep them coming!
  2. Hi Guys. I know I'm a bit of a lurker but I need your help I'm doing GCSE Stats at school and for our coursework we're doing a project on reaction times. We have to collect the data first hand and I need around 40 pieces of data, although 50 will be ideal. What I need you to do is: 1. Take this test http://getyourwebsitehere.com/jswb/rttest01.html 2. Post your result, along with a few other pieces of data, in this format. Average Reaction Time: Gender: Time (Of day) Test Is Taken: Age (if you don't feel comfortable, post an age bracket): Do you play video games frequently (More than or equal to two times a week): Please only do the test once, if you get a 'bad' time it doesn't matter, I only need it to stick on a graph. Doing the test too many times might distort the data because naturally, with practice you'll only get better Thank you very much.
  3. Fantastic park, just read this thread from start to finish. You are truly a master.
  4. I think I can guess the ride finale? Is it the station Great park, I really like the buildings about it, and the wooden rollercoaster too
  5. We had this discussion over at TowersTimes. On first quick read through it appears to say 6 figure salary but read more carefully and inspected it says equivalent to (or words to that effect) 6 figure salary. For all we know he could be getting paid in carrots or guinea pigs.
  6. If you had disambiguated, then you would've found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_meme A bit simple
  7. That's really nice scenery. Good use of the rocks and diggers too, I like that a lot. It could be a bit darker though in my opinion. What trains are they?
  8. Name: Matthew Cooper Age: 14 What is your roller coaster count? 46 What is your home park? Alton Towers What is the nearest big city? Manchester, UK What is your occupation? Student About how many times a year do you visit a park (including your home park)? Once or Twice About how many times a year do you travel to a park that is not your home park? again once or twice When you travel do you go primarily to amusement parks or do you also try and hit other sites? I try to hit lots of thing but theme parks are top of the list. What is the farthest you’ve traveled to go to an amusement park? The United States Does roller coaster time get in the way of family time? (Do you choose to miss your children’s or family’s sporting events, holidays, birthdays, etc…) I have to do what my parents do and that's usually the family thing. Do you have any other major hobbies? Using the computer as well as football (soccer) Do you get feelings of sadness in the offseason? Do you even have an offseason? Do you travel during the offseason? I don't get feelings of sadness but I am glad when the season starts up again. Do you consider yourself friends with someone you met who works at an amusement park? (Or reverse it, if you work or worked and an amusement park have you made friends with enthusiasts?) Nope Would it bother you to go to an amusement park by yourself? Nope Have you gone to an amusement park by yourself? If so have you ever ran into another enthusiast and tagged along with them? Nope Do you find it easy to make friends with other enthusiasts? No idea I haven't met any other enthusiasts How do you get your coaster news? From the forums at TPR and TowersTimes How many different forum sites do you regularly post on? about 4ish If there was a poll that asked a large pool of enthusiasts what their favorite roller coaster is, what do you think would be the top 3 responses be for wood? And for steel? For wood - El Toro, Balder and T-Express For steel - Kawasemi, Maverick and Superman ROS (the hyper type one) Same scenario but for amusement parks, what would be the top 3? Europa Park, Disney Orlando and Alton Towers (I'm pretty clueless on this one) Have you ever “stole a kid” to get a credit on a kiddie coaster? No Do you cut other categories out of your budget to make trips to parks? (Entertainment, fast food, holidays, tobacco or alcohol, etc…) Nope Before you visit a new park do you research the park finding the best way to navigate the park, get the best deals, or what days to go? Usually Do you feel the roller coaster enthusiast community is a warm and accepting community, or a negative and discouraging community? Fairly accepting, except if you make a comment that is pretty obvious it's not true to enthusiasts but a person who isn't interested in roller coasters wouldn't understand. Do you like to talk about your hobby with people who are not roller enthusiasts? No I try and keep it on the down low but sometimes it slips out if there's a photo of a roller coaster and someone asks what it is, I just have to say what it is.

  12. basically it's not gravity right? Does it almost have a powered feel to it?
  13. technically the steepest you can go is 90 degrees then you just start going back on yourself don't you?
