  1. Honestly, why would you want butter smooth woodies? There is a reason why woodies are so special, because they are what they are. The track sytem is they use is older than steel coasters and outdies wheels. Its part of what a wooden coaster is, and it should at no cost be changed! Hell, I prefer a realy gold, old style woody over anything they could ever build!
  2. 1-Troy @ Toverland 2-Goliath @ Walibi World 3-Typhoon @ Bobbejaanland 4-Robin Hood @ Walibi World Tie-Revolution @ bobbejaanland The rest is to hard to realy give a place, but Troy just stands out together with the first 3.
  3. Wel not very much, more like little pops at the tops of hills, the camalback has a nice longer floater though. I also rode is, friday and yesterday. Yesterday only 30 time, opposite to 40 on friday. It realy kicks ass, especialy in the evening near closing time and when it rains/the track is wet. And I have to say, this ride suck in the back when you compare it to the frontseat! And if you ride front, ride left, cuss otherwise you'll have to deal with a lot of lateral G's in the last helix! We also had the oppertunity to talk to Clair from GCI and we heard some interesting stuff. The ride WILL remain smooth as long as Toverland does all the work on the ride as GCI told them to do. Ow and to robb, he also said Intamin Woodies are NOT REALY WOODIES! Take that
  4. I just got back from the ERT on Troy and it was realy, realy awsome! I arrived at the park just before 10, but since troy didn't open till 11 we had to ride boosterbike and stuff. At 11 the opening began with some speeches of the 2 owner, followed by the official Troy song. When they finnaly took the lines holding us back, away I sprinted to the ride and got in first. However I gave up my place to someone else, so I rode it in the 3th train. The first ride was awsome, but I was left with a strange feeling. So we decided to ride again, front seat this time, wow what a rush that was, it was totaly awsome! During the day the ride got better and better, going faster and producing more and more forces. At the end, the last ride at 8 PM it just went totaly crazy. Its like descired some post above, only way faster, so more airtime and totaly wild. According to chris the last part of Troy was even better then 'The voyage'. Realy, all come over to ride this ride, cuss its the most awsome coaster I've ever riden. But remember, ride at the left side, better view, and you have not such a big change to get killed by the inmense lateral G's at the last part. BTW, max wait was like 5 minutes, and up to 7 for front and back seats. The ERT wait was 1 ride mostly! I got 40 rides today and I'm goign back on monday I Think.
  5. Holy sh*t, this rides rules! I realy can't wait till the 30th
  6. One of the riders just got back, and he could only say 'WOW', so it sounds good this far...
  7. Toverland is also open every single day, from 10 to 6 . And all the rides work every day! Still, I think this beauty is going to beat 'Troy' hands on. Troy is a family woody, this is more the Thrill freaks ride!
  8. Wow, mavericks looks os awsome....me wants to ride it But I also have a comment, everyone says this ride has a stengle dive, but it hasn't got a single one. The deffinition of a stengel dive is : "Stengel Dive," comprising of an overbanked turn built into the top of an airtime hill.' Those 2 hills are no airtime hills, for example, if Goliath@WW wouldn't have the banked part it would just have a good airtime hill with some turnage. However, if Maverick would have a flat or slightly banked top all of the rides would die. So its not stengel dive, just an ordenary overbank. Still, its a awsome ride, can't wait to ride it!
  9. OMG! I had almost forgotten about the Spookslut!!!! This is a lesson for everyone out there...never give Derek a map and tell him to choose a ride! Elissa "the best ride there was the bench we all slept on...oh and those things they sold outside the park to eat!!!" Alvey You can also look to it in a positive way, its one of the 5 mayor theme park in europe. Yes you have to walk a bit more than usual, but whats the problem about it? Americans are realy like:'we need a ride every 10 meters'. Also the quality of the overal ride is awsome, its has some of the best darkride on earth(Droomvlucht, Villa Volta, Vliegende Hollander). Its just not like anything else, its a family park! IMO The Efteling is a underrates park. The history of the park is VERY big, the rides are mostly high quality and its build for families, the only people not enjoying it are the teeners and all other people who only come to ride coasters and don't look beyond the speed and hight of something.
  10. While I haven't ride one of them I still will give my opinion(don't flame me guys ) El Toro is a huge, very cool ride with more airtime than anythings else in this world(except Balder maby). the drops are superb, and the trains rule! A realy new-age wooden design. The Voyage on the other had is even bigger, longer and even more agressive, not in terms of airtime, but as a whole ride. It has good airtime, not big, just enjoyable, laterals, and its totaly out of controll. I could of course just say now that Voyage is the best, but not without explanation. First of all, I prefer old style rides over new. Why? I don't know, I just love the feeling of a little roughness with out of control a feeling. Second, In my eyes El Toro is nothing more than an airtime machine, cuss so far as I've read, people only talk about the huge airtime and the boring twister section, so if I read i right, it has nothing more to offer than steep drop with tons of airtime. The Voyage however is a total package. It has everything a good woody needs, its high, it has tunnels, its has 90 degrees turns, is has laterals, and its totaly out of controll till you reach the brakes. Its like a never ending wild ride, so wild that most people would want it to be shorter. And maby thats the main reason El Toro is prefered by more people than only the airtime fans. Its just to long, if they had cut of like 1/6th it would still be awsome, but then you could re-ride it. While Voyage is better as ride, the re-rideable factor is way to low. Thats my opinion, yes I'm kinda a Voyage fanboy, but still I think this opinion is writen form a fairly neutral standpoint.
  11. I'll be there for the Troy ERT. Finaly a change of riding it in the summer without waiting like 30 minutes per ride.
  12. Yester day I also had the one-of-a-lifetime opertunity to go on the building site with Dirk and Bas. At least thanks to Caroline Maesen(and Bas a.k.a. hyyyper). Look, we found Dirk Airtime! Yah, looks very cool afther the first drop! Bottom of the first drop. Believe it or not, but its 36M according to the builders(never believe Clair ) Wheres dirk? Lead-out of 2th tunaround(the one afther the horseshoe) Little bunny hop Camelback lead-out And this is what I saw when I turned 180 degrees around. Its huge! And it has the only tripple crossover in the world! I don't know where I took this one, but it looks like some fun! Bye Troy, see you again soon! Dirk loves looking at little poles. First drop maddnes! He is still looking at poles, even Bas joined him Bas: 'TPR style, through the trees'. Johan: 'Johan style ,throughbas and the trees '
  13. Instead of linking you guys to some weird site I just grap some pics from themepark.nl, the bigest coastefan site in the netherlands! Ha, try beating that disney! And of course, a little movie, made by Sander kay Roeling: www.eftelingtalk.nl/sanderkay/dvhpreview.wmv If your going to the efteling within the next month do not watch, there is a onride included. btw. The darkride is smal, but the main sensation comes from the sound, atmosphere and smell, don't expect to much of it, this ride is all about the total picture!
  14. Well, Golath does at least get near the ground, can't realy say that of EGF. And sowhat that G has the slowest buckel? Its at a good speed, and its off the ground pretty high. You forget that goliath is only 46M high, so what do you expect. Btw. have you ever ridden Golaith? Cuss the negatives on the last 3 hills are awsome. And why is the lay-out un-inspired? I mean, that its doesn't go up all the time doesn't mean its un-inspired. Its a speed coaster, the setting is awsome, the airtime on the 4 airtime hills is great, and the stengel dive is the best non-inversion thingy ever. If give Golaith a 6/10 then you realy need some decent therapy....
  15. Hey, So, whats your favorite entrance to a theme/amusement park? Mine is(of course), the one form the Efteling, its HUGE and very good looking(certainly at night).
