  1. I’m really excited about cast-member previews! This will be the first roller coaster I’ve had a chance to ride before the general public! The queue, the vehicles, and the theming all look amazing. It will be nice to have another unique attraction to WDW, not found in the other Disney parks. I am stoked for Tron too, but this is an original creation.
  2. Yup there’s definitely transfer tracks up north. It looks to be a dual loading station because the track branches in two different places before and after the station, which is in the middle. So I definitely think there will be some storytelling in this building before and after the action. Queue and preshow rooms are towards the left of the building after you enter the front. Maintenance and riser rooms are to the right, which makes sense as the launch tunnel is that way too. There’s some images floating around online and a recent Good Morning America tour of the show building. It’s a massive attraction. I can’t wait!
  3. So I’ve been a little more adventurous since moving here to Orlando, and we both went to Magic Kingdom with only one cell phone. Which we tried to avoid using one day, for fun, in early December after Thanksgiving. We rope dropped MK and stayed until 4:30. Managed to get on 10 different attractions, including all three mountains, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Jingle Cruise, Small World, Pirates, People Mover, and Speedway. Also managed to snag a couple of meals, and a snack too. Some of the locations were a little perplexed about us not wanting to mobile order, so we had an easy out: “dietary restrictions.” But gotta say had so much fun not staring at the phone constantly. And the wait times on the App? Well a couple were wildly off, compared to what we actually experienced. We passed by Peter Pan which posted a 45 minute wait. We waited 25. Passed by a “15 minute” Small World queue which was spilling out onto the midway, because I thought it was way longer than that. Then came back later to a 35 minute posted queue that was inside the building and was only a 5 minute wait. And since we weren’t staying on property, we couldn’t get early entry. So we rope dropped Jingle Cruise because the lines were already pretty long for Fantasyland/Tomorrowland. So we avoided a 95 min wait for Jingle Cruise, a 60 min wait for Big Thunder, and a 120 min wait for Splash. If you go to WDW often enough, give a mobile free day a try. You will be surprised and have a magical time.

Learn more about the Disney Water Parks and how to include Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in your next Walt Disney World vacation here.” The opening of this park means the closure of Blizzard Beach for its annual refurbishment, so it’s last day of operation is New Years Day! I’m really excited, what about everyone else?
  5. AllEars blog said they bought the LL pass for Everest, and when it was time to use it, the line was only 10 minutes. Not a great look. I think AK will definitely be the park to go to during the 50th to avoid crowds though. It doesn’t have Star Wars, and Pandora is 4 years old with no Cinema Sequel within the near future. Kind of perplexed on why there’s even going to be a sequel at this point when the film is 12 years old. Primeval Whirl got the axe with no closing ceremony. Overall it’s still a park you can finish everything in less than a whole day, especially until Finding Nemo returns. I can’t wait to see what happens in the Dinosaur area of the park. Still love the headlining attraction there!
  6. I’d have to agree, hit up Velocicoaster twice on Thursday, that coaster still makes me scream for real, and not just for fun. Mostly after the 2nd launch and the barrel roll over the lagoon. My partner agrees on the state of Toon Lagoon, hardly anyone under the age of 30 (maybe older) knows who Dudley Do Right, Blondie, and Cathy are anymore. This is always the inherent issue with utilizing IPs in the park, unless you get lucky and find an IP with some endless staying power, it’s most likely going to be outdated at some point. And unless you’re willing to invest constantly in updated theming, you’ll be stuck with a land that mainly serves to suck up riders when everything else has too big of a line. Dudley-do-right was already outdated when the park opened and the show was barely even syndicated on TV at that point. The ride itself is in desperate need of paint, and some of the facade is starting to get holes in it (lol). While Dudley managed to get a 90 min wait last Saturday, Popeye’s couldn’t even come close, is it capacity that helps the latter? Or is it the fact that everyone now knows you’ll be absolutely drenched from head to toe and not so many people are keen on that idea? I haven’t had a chance to get on River Adventure for about a month, it was down both times I went. Last Saturday, lots of rides were down: Hulk, Forbidden Journey, River Adventure, two Dr Seuss rides, and Spider-Man were down all at the same time for many hours. And of course Hagrids was on Virtual Wait only so it was completely closed off if you missed your chance. So Flight of the Hippogriff had a 60+ min wait. Then there’s a whole themed area with zero attractions at the moment, Lost Continent. And the Dr Seuss area which no one seems to care about either. It had hardly had any lines despite massive crowds. Have to wait and see what the future brings this park, since they have one new attraction, I’m not really expecting many new updates besides whatever is happening in the Lost Continent. Universal has all their eggs in Epic Universe’s basket so I don’t imagine to many big changes ATM. I still have a great time when I go, but I mainly focus on a few rides now.
  7. Hey! Thanks for the tip. I was able to order the multi-day ticket over the phone, and we enjoyed HHN 30 last night. Customer service said they were having an outage on their website, should be fixed on Monday. It was so much fun!
  8. FYI I just tried to buy a multi-day ticket to HHN and their website said all multi-day tickets are “temporarily unavailable.” What is this supposed to mean? Are they not selling any multi-day tickets or are they sold out?
  9. Aaaahhh don’t say that name, you’re triggering my PTSD. But onto the topic; The flyer model at SFOG. I don’t know much about the manufacture but pretty sure it’s impossible to snap. Correct me if I am wrong.
  10. Wow, I just can't believe this is opening up in Georgia. The concept art looks crazy, and a season pass would be totally worth it, just to ride this coaster.
  11. While I love the Kemah Boardwalk, and the Pleasure Pier south of there, I just can't fathom going back to that area of Texas. I'm not a big fan of Houston and the surrounding oil refineries on the coast. Also there's no new coasters there, and they're very limited in space as it is. If Houston ever got a proper theme park again, I would definitely go visit.
  12. Last coaster I rode was Steel Eel at SeaWorld San Antonio. Really solidified my love of Morgan Hypers (granted I haven't had the chance to ride Mamba, Steel Force, or Mild Thing). Now I'm in Orlando trying to decide where to go first! I really want to ride Velocicoaster next.
  13. I just got a part-time job at Epcot to celebrate the 50th anniversary in style. I'm really excited about all the new Nighttime Spectaculars that I get to experience. All the threads about Disney Genie have been amusing so far, many people are not happy. But, I've noticed lots of people on the DISBOARDS are stuck in an echo chamber & don't travel to other amusement parks. They have very little basis for comparison. I personally am excited to have this change implemented because the Fastpass+ system was extremely burdened from everyone using it. Genie is similar to MaxxPass at Disneyland and I thought that system was lightyears ahead of the Fastpass+ system at WDW. It seemed more fair, I didn't have to plan months in advance, and I was able to get passes to big ticket attractions. I was also able to stack my passes throughout the day. Use one, and then while in the Queue line, book another one. Yes the major attractions like Slinky Dog, Seven Dwarves, Rise, etc will be an extra fee. But I think this will reduce the amount of lighting lane users to manageable amounts. So it won't impact the regular standby queue as much. I don't know all the in's and out's of the new system, but I can't wait to see the potential! Even if I don't pay for the large attractions, I think everyone on here is savvy enough to know how to navigate the parks and avoid lines for the major attractions.
  14. Nice! I like these family models. It’s like that low to the ground, swoopy part of Cheetah Hunt, but for the whole ride.
  15. Haha wow! If you had told me that Atlanta would be home to two amazing RMCs I would have never believed you. I’ve actually never been to Fun Spot Atlanta. The location is on the exact opposite side of the city from me, so it seemed like a haul for one coaster. But now?
