  1. Oh wow. Either they're not the brightest, or you did an awful job of explaining X to them. Maybe some pics would've helped.
  2. According to Screamscape, here's the lineup for the first few months of Hard Rock Park's concert series: May 8 – One Republic – for Annual Pass holders only May 13 – Kid Rock with special appearance by Rev Run (band currently includes Dickey Betts from the Allman Bros., btw) May 16 – Volunteer Jam (The Charlie Daniels Band, .38 Special & Shooter Jennings) May 23 – George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic June 2 – Eagles – Grand Opening Special Event June 3 – The Moody Blues – Grand Opening Special Event July 4 – Sister Hazel Note that the Eagles and the Moody Blues will be sold together as an upcharge through TicketBastard, including a 2-day package for both shows for $250 (can't imagine a park giving away free Eagles tickets, heh) but besides that, the free concerts by Kid Rock, George Clinton, and The Charlie Daniels Band (!!!) should be nothing short of incredible, and the biggest in-park concerts we've seen in a long time. WOW.
  3. Damn that's a nice ride collection for a private park- too bad pretty much all of those are heavily damaged or nearly unsalvagable now.
  4. I wonder who listened to the Shapiro interview? Excellent idea, especially if the park used the Disneyesque ticket-based Fastpass system. That way, ride capacities could be maintained (by "virtual lines" maintained by Fastpass), while also providing a GREAT benefit to the average rider. Such a system would be revolutionary to the average SF and would (probably, if marketed aggressively) a huge profit boost over time, despite the initial (though small) loss of FP revenue.
  5. Talk amongst yourselves. Wouldn't mind a CP buyout (was at CP annual meeting, Kinzel said he wanted a foothold in traditional vacations) but whatever comes down the pipeline should be good news. Artist's rendition... a possibility
  6. From Screamscape, btw. Hmm... An addition to Dubailand? New rides aplenty? Retheming of the Busch brand? No more free booze? Time will tell!
  7. CF doesn't do animals (remember the WOA fiasco), so Seaworld is probably out. Also, I really doubt that Busch will want to ditch a revenue stream such as this- dunno about that, though. Probably gonna be a over rethemeing/renaming, although it may be a ride introduction, which would still be an awkward time to do so (just prior to the main TP season).
  8. Having been on all 3, I vote for Japan. By a wide margin.
  9. I might've been a little not all there when I mixed up my list, and no it is nowhere near my true feelings for these coasters, but here goes... 10. That queue is INSANE. Thankfully, it'll be air-conditioned, but the size of that thing is just huge- and boring looking too (it's just one large, meandering queue)
  11. ehhh... looks like a modified (improved that is) Screamin' Squirrel. Last year, I rode the prototype, Sequoia Adventure, in Gardaland (Italy), and it was not only boring (it's flip, straight, flip, straight , repeat X2) but the OTSR's were insanely painful. Seriously, that ride left wide, red marks on my shoulders for a week or two, making it painful to ride anything with OTSRs, like the 2 other loopers in the park. I'm hoping for the best, but this ride looks hella painful.
  12. I don't know about the other parks but SFSTL's quality significantly improved in 2007. Landscaping, employee friendliness, and cleanliness had the most positive changes. Having been to StSTL several times over the past 6-7 years, I can definitely say that Six Flags has certainly improved the park immensely. Think about it- over the past few years, the park has become MUCH more beautiful and landscaped, as well as receiving such rides as the Boss, the Scooby Doo ride, Xcalibur, the Tony Hawk spinner, and now the Evil Knievel coaster.
  13. Hmmm.... I'm gonna say it's a tie between Hurakan and Drop Zone. Although the view from Hurakan is flat-out amazing (!!!), the drop is practically forceless. Even though Drop Zone is more forceful, the view isn't as great, so I'm chalking this one up as a tie.
