But the first 20' is transition to vertical and the top 20' is transition to horizontal so technically it's 110' of vertical..

The station is further back closer to the wall. I would guess this appears to be the spot that goes below ground/boardwalk level. There is a reference that this does happen twice.
Whats with all the B&M dive coaster love. They are pretty much a one trick pony. I do think you are right as this is a much better coaster for the amount of space they had. Congrats to KBF/CF for their choice.
