  1. The video is the very first cycle of new X2 train. We did not have a ton of time to prepare for the video, or to contact Robb to come and film it for us. I had thought you might appreciate seeing the very first cycle of the train. We are already working with Robb to come and shoot both our 1st and 2nd train that has already taken a few test cycles to date. Several weeks ago we contracted a professional to come shoot the commercial footage, which we will use in future commercials. We have scheduled that shoot to take place as we are nearing the end of the project. As for the lockers…, come on guys, if I wanted to make money, I would charge you five dollars to store your belongings. We are not forcing anyone to use the lockers. We are doing our very best to make sure you do not enter the queue line with loose articles. My only intent here is to train riders to not bring anything into a line or onto a ride. My suggestion, don’t bring anything with you that you can’t secure in your pocket! It is that simple. If it was feasible, we would have these lockers at all of the rides. The sole purpose is to increase capacity! Sole purpose! Remember, Tatsu last summer consistently had 6 minute and 30 second dispatch times… Unacceptable! We have made vast strides to reduce this number and have been very successful to date. You may ask about gifts and souvenirs, we have a “free” package pickup you can use to store the items you purchase. We have lockers you can access all day long for 17, 13, or 9 dollars depending on the size you want. I am not looking to nickel and dime the guests. How much do you pay to access the internet at Cyber Café? How much does it cost to go to the Magic of the Mountain Museum at the Sky Tower? How much is Package Pickup again? That's right... all FREE! I have no problem defending the value proposition here at our park. We are a phenomenal value and working hard each day to make it that much more enticing! I am just blown away that this continues to be a sore subject with many of you… especially after we have continued to deliver on so many improvements at the park this season. Guys, I CARE so much about this park! Just as each of you do! If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be coming to this thread. But please, be patient! I can’t share many of our plans, but certainly… or hopefully, you can all see that we are heading in the right direction. We never claimed to be perfect! We did say we were working towards it! Keep the Faith, Jay Jay Thomas Park President Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor
  2. Thank you so much for all the fantastic comments regarding WCB. The entire TEAM here at SFMM & HH are very excited about the 2008 season. I really appreciate ALL the comments I received at the Q&A session, as well as, the comments shared with many of you throughout the day. We realize we are not even close to perfect… however our goal is to be the absolute best we can be! We will accomplish this by listening to our employees, our guests, our enthusiast, and even our critics. With the implementation of the IBU, we will restore OUR PARK to GREATNESS! I look forward to seeing each of you again in THE PARK! Jay Jay Thomas Park President Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor Come on Robb… Manny?

  4. My entire team and I are looking forward to hosting West Coast Bash on Sunday, March 9th! See you there! Jay
  5. Jew, you have every right to question the decision. It falls solely on my shoulders. Please understand that I am doing everything in my power to ensure we have more than enough seasonal labor to “over deliver” on the days when we are reaching larger numbers of guests. Greeters, groupers, larger (yet efficient) ride crews are just a few of the areas to receive this “repurposed” money. This time of season, our draw is primarily from the local market. The news stations do in fact have a direct impact on the decisions made by families. Last night they were predicting as much rain on Sunday as we have received all week long. When you looked at the hour-by-hour forecast on Weather.com, they showed 90 to 100% rain and thunderstorms each hour throughout the day. Therefore, Saturday night the decision was made to close the park based on us not being able to provide a quality product for any guests who may have attended on Sunday. We do greet people at the Toll Plaza to explain our positioning in person. We make the decision early so that we can get the word out to guests who may be driving in from a greater distance. You certainly have every right to be skeptical, but it is a new day here SFMM. This is not a easy decision for any park manager. Thank you for caring enough to share. Jay
  6. I am really happy to hear everyone had such a good time. I can assure you the team and I was equally pleased with the event. It was great meeting a number of you and I look forward to seeing you all again on March 9th for the West Coast Bash. I was so excited to share the passion our team has for this property and more importantly the ownership we are taking to restore SFMM to glory days many of you have mentioned. Theme parks to me represent an extension of the personality of those who run them… take Walt Disney himself, or Pat & Will Koch who literally created an environment based on their beliefs of higher standards with no room for tolerance. This is our direction and vision for our property, we will treat it as though we own it! We are a changed park working towards perfection! We have elevated our goals and are demanding a since of ownership at each location in our park. IBU is the philosophy that is going to get us there and sooner rather than later. I hope you hear more about this concept in the Trip Reports from the event itself. I covered it during the Q & A session. We are spending a great deal of money on many improvements within the park, but none more important than our investment in Human Resources. We have already made great strides in this area over the last two short months. However, a noticeable difference will be experienced by ALL this Spring. Although time is not always on my side as I have a four year old son and wife who graciously accept the hours required of my position… I do enjoy reading your thoughts, passions, celebrations, and concerns of our property, in my spare time. I assure you that they are taken to heart. Jahan, keep up the great work! When you are planning your next update, please shoot me an email. I would love to walk you through the back areas allowing you to better cover the improvements we are making for all on this site to see. We realize the experience has room to improve, however great strides have been taken and changes are beginning to really take shape at our park. I hope you could see the unity our management team has and the passion we have to make a difference. I am confident, WE WILL SUCCEED! Here is to a “phenomenal” 2008 season and an ALL NEW Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor. Sincerely, Jay Jay Thomas Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor Park President PS. Robb & Elissa, it was great meeting both of you over the past few days! I am looking forward to a great friendship!
  7. First, I want to dispel the myths a few members are leaving regarding SFKK. If you have not been to the park this year, you have not been to SFKK. We are working diligently to provide our guests with an exceptional experience here at our park. We are focused on families and have made vast strides to deliver an exceptional kids product with our two kids areas located in the theme park. We have also listened to what our guests have had to say about our property over the past several years. We developed a long range plan with that in mind and delivered an amazing waterpark expansion and re-brand to Six Flags Splashwater Kingdom. The all new Deluge along with Buccaneer Beach have been huge hits for all of our guests. Deluge is an amazing experience with 4 person rafts making their way through a serpentine series of high-bank turns in enclosed tunnels and up-hill climbs via the LIM technology really catches you buy surprise. Anyone who visits our park and does not see the changes we are putting in place and the progress we are making to deliver on an exceptional experience just doesn’t get the bigger picture. I have been in the business for 20 years and I am more excited at this point in my career than any other thus far. There are those whom may disagree and that is certainly their right… however, I hope they have truly made their visit to the park. I have given multiple tours this year to show everyone what we have to offer and where we are going in the future. I extend an invitation to anyone who is interested spending time learning more about what our great park has to offer… just contact me via my cell phone 972 922-9986 to schedule a tour of SFKK. I have been at this property for 18 months now and I assure you SFKK is a different park heading in the right direction! Jay Jay Thomas Park President Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
