  1. Thanks for sharing Rob! This thread is comedic GOLD!!! No wonder you don't do the trips like you used to.
  2. yes. Like Nannerdw stated about it closing for the fireworks then reopening, I was lucky enough to experience this on one of my visits to KI. We were in line for the front row (we would be the 6th ride out of the station), and during the firework break, they said everyone will ride, but they are only sending 6 more trains out (lucky for once in my life), if there are more than a 6 train wait, please select another row. We were the last ride on the Beast and the last people to leave the park...had a security escort following us. Best ride on the beast ever.
  3. I like the Wildcat. It's a woodie...they are supposed to be rough. I actually liked it better when they were running the old PTC trains on it (probably the only one). But maybe that is why it's aged worse than it's cousins LR? Maybe if they had their millennium flyers back then and used them over the heavier PTC trains, more people might appreciate it today? Thoughts?
  4. Growing up in Philly, there was nothing better than that day trip to WW or that week vacation. Been collecting tickets from Gateway 26 since I was a kid and almost have 50,000. I was down there with my family for Easter, but was upset that only Mariners was open (Surfside is my favorite), since my daughter is now tall enough to go on Flitzer and that's on Surfside. Planning to come back up in mid June and hit up Morey's and Hersheypark and hopefully SFGadv a couple more times. I completely understand the rivalry between Macks and Sams, but never meet anyone who prefers Sams, guess I'm the only one (60% of me favors Sam's while the other 40% favors Macks, so I do what anyone would do...I eat BOTH). Laura's Fudge (just off the boardwalk behind the northernmost Mack's) is great for fudge and chocolate covered strawberries. I think Morey's is in need of a new "major" attraction, so lets hope that's not far off. Also kinda curious to see how the "retracking" of the Nor'Easter will be... Nothing can beat a day at Wildwood...spend the early morning on the beach, go buy an all day bracelet that includes 2hrs of the waterparks, and spend the rest of the day riding slides and rides.
  5. Ahhh....you beat me to it! Not one BUT TWO double helices from hell. SOB was the epitome of smooth
  6. http://www.aceonline.org/acenewsnow/?article=504 http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201503/4483/ Fury and Intimidator at Carowinds have seatbelts
  7. Great report. My home park was SFGadv until this past year when I moved to NC. Still have a season pass for SFGadv for when I come up, but have always wanted to visit SFOG. I used to get my pass at SF America near DC cause it was 50 compared to ours being 89, but stopped doing that once the price was the same across the board. I could only spend about 3 hours in that park due to the workers being so damn slow, so I know how you feel. If you are ever in the area, I would recommend Carowinds (only been there once so far) just for fury 325 (ruined Nitro for me lol), Intimidator is good also, as is Afterburner, which imo, puts batman to shame. Funny you mentioned the Kamikaze from down Wildwood...that was my first "real" coaster, would love to see her again, and dare I say, ride it again. Maybe the paint job will make it smoother....not a chance in hell!
