  1. I received my copy in the mail 6-6-11(maryland). Thanks a million! Great stuff
  2. As for the name Cheetah Hunt, am I one of the only ones that sees the name describing what and how the cheetah behaves versus what man does to that animal?
  3. I'm sure it's not just you, but it definitely isn't me! SFGAm isn't one of my top parks, but I thought the ride collection was decent. Ragin' Cajun is my easily my favorite spinner in the entire world and one of my favorite rides in the park! S:UF, Vertical Velocity, Batman, Viper, and Raging Bull are all solid rides, although not amazing in my book. However, I must admit Viper and Bull didn't quite live up to what I'd hoped; they both could've been much more intense. Dark Knight was a decent mouse and a great dark coaster! I've never hated a stand-up and I thought Iron Wolf was all right. Demon and Whizzer just are what they are...decidedly average, but get points for being classic. American Eagle was one of the most overrated rides of the trip for me, I'm pretty sure everyone loves it except me. Little Dipper was "cute", not at all exciting but no complaints here for what it is. Spacely's was a credit ride, I can appreciate kiddie coasters but not this one. And that's it for my mini-reviews on this park! I so agree with your mini-review. American Eagle was my first Intamin Woodie(standard, I should say...plug-n-plays are amazing) and it was one of the rougher woodies I experienced. I admire B&M hypers, but for the length, Bull was the worst of them I've been on...not to say that it was horrible....Nitro, Apollo, Goliath(Le Ronde) are so much better. Iron Wolf was the roughest B&M I've ridden. Not a big fan of the stand-up coaster...but oh well. Park was in great shape, but "America's cleanest," I'm not too sure about that! I have a terrible SF park near me(SFA). So, I'll take anyone I've been to over that one(well maybe not the recently defunct SFKK)!
  4. Excellent trip update! My girlfriend and I were at SFGAm and The Dells in early July. As for Hades....as others also noted, the front row is pretty awesome, with only the expected Gravity Group/CCI roughness. The rest of the seating was an assault...and it got worse, the further back we sat on the train. Zeus seriously will be placed amongst the bottom of my coaster list..it flat out sucks and hurts worse than Hades...and what's with all the weeds and trees growing up through the tracks on the camel backs? The only truly, semi-smooth section of the ride was where the new wood was placed near the parking lot turnaround. As for SFGAm....is it me or was every ride rather lame and un-memorable? Great pics!!!!!
  5. I must say that I totally agree with most of this review. I was able to ride on Monday, April 5, with very little wait. I happen to love Intamin coasters the best, and El Toro, Maverick, and I305-all branded under IntaRide LLC-have delivered something that the other Intamins haven't...extreme lateral Gs and all-out forcefullness. I'm having a hard time deciding whether this is my new #1 or if Maverick stays the course. I305 is sick, fantastic, as aggressive as it gets through a sustained period of time. TTD and KK may be forceful upfront, but there is a moment to breathe. This coaster hasn't any. This drop is better than MF and the series of s-curves before the trimmed hill are waaaay more forecful than Maverick. I was pleasantly suprised and recommend most to try I305. If Bizarro wins this year, I'll be sick...it doesn't even hold a candle to this ride. I wish the last set of airtime twists were laid out differently. I feel it seemed too similar to the first half. Other than that, this ride is it folks. Mav and Toro(my 1 and 2...before this madness) have two seperate halves. But as for the rest of the pacing...this ride is phenomenal...ride the front....right side is best!
  6. I was pleasantly disturbed by your trip report. I truly love Maverick, as it is my favourite coaster, and I agree with some that the transitions are spectacular. Mean Streak? Seriously. I suppose Ghostrider is wonderful too. Maybe because Maverick needs to be proactively ridden by the rider instead of just sitting there; people tend to rate it lower. Maybe because it isn't a record shattering ride, but delivers an aggressive performance, I enjoy it. But, that is my opinion versus yours. I agree with a lot of the CP complaints. It certainly doesn't have the aesthetic appeal of a BGE, BGA, etc......To me, that park is simply as smorgasborg of coasters and rides. Instead of spending 100 million on a themed dud, they spread it around on mega-rides that unfortunately wind up on concrete slabs. Great comments on this TR and superb photos. At Six Flags parks a "visual check" is being used too. This may be the new fad for safety liabilities. It's strange, but I'd rather not end up on the news because some teenager didn't properly secure the riders on a train.
