  1. Oh sweet! Must say I prefer the chimney version, but what the hey! Turbine is coming back baby, yeah!
  2. Hi everyone I made my yearly visit to Bobbejaanland last weekend and decided to shoot an onride video on "The El Paso Special" just to show off all the wackyness in motion. This ride was deemed the most politically incorrect ride ever right here on tpr. It's a darkride...with guns! It was build in 1988, there's no scorecount, the cars are just 2 garden benches nailed to a plate on wheels and you get to shoot...well eh...just about anyone who lived during the 19th century in America. Take it with a sense of humour For your entertainment (be careful for the loud volume): Apologies for the somewhat crappy picture, I only had a small cybershot available. And also for the awful attempt at copying Marty McFly shouting "indians"
  3. Hello everyone A couple of months ago I heard that Walibi Belgium (former Walibi Wavre and Six Flags Belgium) was planning on refurbishing Turbine, the famous half-enclosed Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop. It has been SNBO for nearly 3 years now and they want to repair and replace/update all the broken parts to give the old girl another 10 year life-span. Best of all? They're serious! 2 weeks ago these pictures came up: The plan is to make the coaster fully enclosed, to ensure noise reduction for neighbouring residents on that side of the park (main reason it became half-enclosed in the first place). They're considering 2 plans for this: 1) Encasing both ends in flashy-coloured tubes, to match up with the neighbouring logflume FlashBack 2) Extending the building on both ends, changing the theme to and old coal-factory, and have 2 diagonal chimneys (like the tower of Pisa) to serve as casings for the 2 slopes Both will contain light and sound effects. Also the queue will now be in the front of the building, and indoors, to protect guests during rain or intense sun. The old queue was behind the building, in a very boring and very hot spot. Now maybe you're wondering: what if they can't fix it? After all, Schwarzkopf is gone, and these shuttle loops are slowly disappearing. Well, should it fail to save this monument, Walibi has a Plan B: a spinning rollercoaster, going by the project-name "Fabulous". In this case Turbine will be taken down, and a brand new spinning coaster will take it's place, using the building as a station, with the lifthill and first drop being in the area where Turbine's loop is. These pictures were also send out, showing a couple possible lay-outs and a comparison to where Turbine now is. This shows 3 possible lay-outs, although I think number 3 is the only "correct" one. Also a quick and rough translation of the French on that last one, covering the advantages of replacing Turbine with Fabulous: - Height only 21 meters instead of 42 - The attraction is more family based: no violent launch (buuuuh!), 2x4 cars instead of a 28 people train (how is this an "advantage"?), 55 km/h instead of 85 (again, what?) - It replaces a dated attracion, it opened as Sirocco (non enclosed) in 1982, had the accident were a full train was stuck upside down in 1998 (97? not sure), and opened again, half enclosed as Turbine in 1999. - Uses magnetic brakes - Takes less time to develop - Makes for a nice sight So yeah, I think my opinion on this one is obvious: go Turbine! It's allways been a fan favorite in this part of Europe and I would love for it to be completely indoors with special effects. On the other hand plan B isn't all that bad, but only, OOOONLY if all else fails please . Will keep you updated if this develops!
  4. Well for one you can't play that in an urban environment, or any random forest. Last sunday we were playing in a huge underground parking lot. Can't do that with paintball or airsoft . I do play paintball in the summer in an old fort near my town.
  5. That's also a possibility. Didn't dare ask that directly tho . Ofc I'd overcompensate for the trouble ^^.
  6. Hello everyone As you can see I don't post very often, I'm more of a leeching reader . A couple of months ago some Dutch friends of mine decided to pick up some Hasbro Lazer Taggers. It's been out in the US since 2004 or 5 I think, but only recently they decided to buy some trough e-bay/amazon, all that stuff. We only have the old Deluxe guns, and a couple of phoenixes. Some small handgun taggers are on the way. Now my question is: where can we find Master Blasters! Theyre the big guns with the rocket launcher on the bottom (Pic). ToysRus is long gone in Europe, and they don't sell them anymore at any of the US retailers afaik. There's some available on Amazon but none of them ships to Belgium or Holland. Occasionally one pops on e-bay, but it's the same story there. The other guns are easily acquired...the master blaster is almost a myth. If you have one or more MB's or know how to get them, your help would be much appreciated. The trick is to get them to Belgium or Holland, so I can cap them Dutchies like a pro . Cheers!
  7. Edit: 2 Fabiola - Lift You Up, but the version used here is a modern remix.
  8. A couple of days ago, 2 Fabiola, a Belgian Eurodance band (yes it's Eurodance, you can wiki that ^^) gave a live DJ set in the center of Bobbejaanland's indoor rollercoaster ®Evolution. Here's the result: (not my video) Those of you that have done this ride will have a better view of what's going on ofcourse. I think it rocks, awesome idea! And as far as I know, I've never seen anything like it. Personally I'd love to see Aerosmith doing that on the Rock'n'roller .
  9. A new video, this time the car is going at the speed it should go. Vertigo Test
  10. Well, at first the opening was delayed 6 weeks, to the 25th of May, due to TÜV (the German inspection agency) not apporoving DVH. Nothing serieus tho, had something to do with a car not making the track if the chainlift would stop at the very end. Apparently, according to TÜV, a train MUST be able to reach the end of the track when it's at the top of the lift and the lift stops.Well at least that's what I read Now, it seems that DVH's opening has been delayed yet another 4 weeks, due to the company that makes the boatcars. They simply can't have them ready at that date, which I find rather odd... Think they needed to adapt the boats, in order to let TÜV approve them. But oh well, with a bit of luck you'll be able to ride in July!
  11. I say this on every forum where I see this post... Allright...here goes... YAH SURE, AND IM THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND! Thank you for these 5 seconds of your attention. I'd love to see this "project" become reality, as I'm Belgian. But eh...no. Well...no. It's just that...no...
  12. I actually wish What we heard is that there is going to be some new type of ride build there. It's called a "Mountain Glider". Check it out... http://www.input-projekt.com/english/projekte/hardware/mountain_glider/projekt_hard_01.html

  14. Well, since exams are almost finished, Wischmaster and I decided to meet up with you guys in Phantasialand. Any taught on what time you will be arriving there? Watch for black rollercoaster.be T-shirts and raincoats
  15. Haha, great TR! This proves that European parks are different from American ones. Bobbejaan is great to relax and have a fun day out. PS: for Elisa, as a Belgian I must say u sound like a jamaican, but it's a nice try
