  1. not really a ride, more a show, but totally breathtaking and very impressive even if you like Fire (don't know how different in feeling to Backdraft in California) ... but for those who rode Spiderman ... when the flamethrower is in action .. imagine that for 10mns and hotter ... feels like 150°F sometimes on your face it's in Spain, at Port Aventura (formerly Universal Studios park) http://www.umwebsite.com/descargas/templodelfuego.zip a video of the show starts in a room with a flat dome ... where it changes from the bright sky to thundering dark sky with spirits. then after a while, you go into the temple room ... where you will experience a furnace.
  2. from the latest news (but not stated as an official report) it was a summer camp with belgian kids on a trip the boat didn't have any adult from the group riding it ... only 5-6 kids (while the rules of the ride say to have one adult) the kids have been told by other riders in other boats to sit down, cuz they were standing up the kids had quite large back packs on them one adult from another boat jumped after a minute a park employee jumped too after no life jacket ... no seat belt (from what i heard none on it, but i don't remember riding any with a seatbelt) ... and if it was to tip over, the seatbelt would be the one drowning you ... so either way there would always be a risk i understand it's a tragedy that a kid died in it, and it's very sad. But if people were following the rules when riding anything ... even a coaster ... less problems would happen for example the disney accident that is reported in TPR ... why the mother would make her son ride a thrilling coaster by a 4 year old ? she's more responsible than Disney. I don't think i'll hear more about this in the news ... but as i didn't see it on yahoo.com or other news online, i was to tell you guys. Take care
  3. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Parc Asterix, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Minutes after he fell, 7-8 people plunged trying to find him but only was found 20mns after. The ride is closed since and will probably be until the end of the enquiry. 4. Thank you "Canada" ... that's what i needed And yes, i spotted there, so it was all good, but i'll get to finish the park kmz file with that full map I'll post the link to my topic on here when done. Thanks again
  5. facing river wouldn't be any fun ... how would you know your friends got soaked if behind you ? plus would take longer to board ... instead of jumping in when it's on the deck, and you have a few extra mns to get comfy on your seat from what i remember riding in europe, there's no indoor water ride like Turtle ... they are all outside ... even if the weather is not always the best in northern europe. A lot easier in Spain where it's warmer. there's a fun detail in Port Aventura (if i'm not wrong), people in the park, have a few spot, where they can shoot you with water canons lol .... so you don't always know where water can come from, not only the ride. Plus indoor would cost disney a lot more ... and most of their money will be put in Tower of Terror.
  6. I don't know what disney will decide for the park, but bendy boats are a lot more fun than regular ... cuz you can "pump" and make the water splash a lot more, while regular ones, you only can expect the ride to do its thing. if i'm not wrong, i tried bendy boats at Bellewaerde Park, Belgium ... definitely more fun A water ride is sure a need for disney ... but both should get one, cuz people dont go much to Disney Studios ... like a log in disney land paris, and that for the studios. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26088 the link with google earth shows the different spot where it might be put. the center one is tower of terror as it's already being built thanks for the drawing, i was wondering what that turtle thing could be like.
  7. Hi guys ... i read you both went to La Ronde in Montreal ... would u have a park map you could please send me ? you can use "rapidsharing.com" and send me the link on a post here or at this link http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26168 or if you know Google Earth, you can go to my link, and improve the last file posted (last topic) and complete it, then share it on here. Goliath doesn't exist yet on it. But i think i spotted it right on it. Thanks in advance if you can help me guys.
  8. tour pics http://rapidsharing.com/download.php?id=2BB0E0F9 I hope you will enjoy this, even if it's not really about roller coasters The Hotel de Crillion (Luxury Hotel as you can tell by the two little cars parked in front of it) On the left of it, you have the American Embassy one of the two fountains on it The Obelisk of Luxar on the Place de la Concorde (square where people were beheaded during the revolution - largest square in Paris) The gold tip was added recently ... the obelisk is 3000 years old and was gift from Mohammed Ali (not the boxer lol) to L Bridge Alexandre III and the French National Assembly The "Grand Palais" and one of its many statues ... and a statue in honor of Charles De Gaulle (former french president and general during the war) - CDG airport is named after his name Embassy of Iran's front gate Ladurée - one of the most famous and best pastry shop in Paris (for the ones familiar with Sex & The City, it's where Carrie goes) Very famous place for its 20 different Macarons (cookies) but has many pastries also and a tea-room. Pretty expensive but w Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (since 1920) Napoleon is sculpted on it (he's the one who asked for it to celebrate the ancient rome and a tribute to his armies) The Arch of Triumph ... one of the many aligned historical buildings in paris (Arch of La Défense is the latest building aligned with it and the Champs Elysées) another bridge of Paris
  9. Sending you pics for you to see that not only Disney Land Paris is worth the trip ! I hope you will like it and will make you want to visit Paris This "promenade" will take you a full day and the use of the Paris subway. if you cross the street from the back of the cathedral, you'll find this WWII Memorial (proper clothes required if you want to visit) View from the back of the Cathedral ... when it's raining, you can see gargoyles spitting out the rain ... and if you climb the towers, you'll see chimeras (mythical creatures) While this one, starts with a 5° angle. Stained glass windows. Only one is original, all the others have been remodelled in 1700s One of the four "Roses" of the Cathedral ... if you look carefully, this one is shaped following a cross (90° angles) center portal representing the Judgement Day ... each portal has its own meaning, as well as the door center represents a statue, and under the statue, there's a scene of the bible too. The Front of the cathedral, doors and more, was "picturing" the bible The Kings under were thought to be French kings, so during the revolution of 1789, they were beheaded ... while they are Kings of Judah and Israel (so religious) Make sure if you take the picture to have the "center of the Rose stained glass" right behind Mary's head ... it's where it should be so it looks like she has a 30 feet wide halo (crown) Notre Dame Cathedral ... has been sand washed for a few years now, giving it the whitish look it had originally, because pollution had darkened it for years before. One of the 37 bridges of Paris (oldest and nicest one is the Pont Neuf - meaning New Bridge) Montparnasse tower, highest in Paris Square Saint Michel Fountain The Observatory in the distance Gate with gold sheets decoration and Palais of Luxembourg in the background Fountain at the Luxembourg Gardens (people sit down and read a book, talk, relax, sunbathe) mommy with her baby at the zoo great use for the macro mode on digital cams Botanical gardens the Gardens close up of a rose Besides the buildings, and zoo, all the visits are free At Le Jardin des Plantes ... gardens with thousands of species ... fragrances are very nice there ... this is the Roses gardens with hundreds of different roses and explanations
