  1. SFOG did have christmas events in the late 1980's early 1990's. Maybe for only a few years. The great gasp was set up like a giant christmas tree. They had sledding and a ice skating rink set up along with some Christmas lights and shows around the park. I think even a few coasters were open. I went 2 different years.
  2. My family and I are disneyworld fanatics also but we love Busch gardens williamsburg also. My wife and I also can't tolerate roller coasters much anymore but really enjoyed the ones at BGW. They are all very smooth and fun. My kids were 15, 10, and 9 the last time we went and they loved the rides in the Sesame Street area along with meeting Bert and Ernie, Grover, big bird and the gang. Also they enjoyed the rides in the Italy area. I hate that you missed the train ride as it is long and the scenery is beautiful.
  3. We ate there in March and loved it also. The pizza was probably the best we have ever eaten.
  4. Please post a trip report to Williamsburg. That is one of my wife and I favorite places and I know your report would be great.
  5. Robb, I believe there are 2 rooms used for the belle portion. One to the right of wardrobe and one to the left.
  6. Some of my fondest memories of six flags was the 70s. Sid and Marty krofft had a puppet show and they had walk around characters of H.R. Pufnstuf, cling and clang, and some of the lidsville hats. In my mind the park was much cleaner and more themed than it is now. Tim Hollis wrote a book about the history of sixs flags and it has many pictures of the park from that era.
  7. I'm 48 years old and remember the horror cave well even though I went thru most of it with my eyes closed. The vampires in the coffins and the slide at the end is what I remember most. Till this day I can't go thru any haunted house. My wife and I went to Halloween horror nights at universal several years ago and she made me go in two of the houses and I basically rode on her back throughout the houses, ha ha.
  8. The liberty tree lunch is not served family style only supper. I agree with you on the castle. My wife and I ate there several years ago and did not like it, and we are not picky eaters. I also agree with you on the yak and the yeti. It's worth going to animal kingdom.
  9. My family and I always enjoy eating at the liberty tree at lunch. The menu is different from the supper menu which is still family style I think. The potroast is great.
  10. I think that Dollywood has always had their new attraction ready for opening day.
  11. No, sadly the world of Sid and Marty Krofft closed before I got to see it......I don't remember Jim Henson being involved but seems like I remember some Hanna-Barbera artists being involved in the design.......By the way the Krofft brothers redesigned the okeefenokee ride a year after it opened
  12. I well remember the okeefenokee swamp. In fact I remember when the Krofft Characters were in the park. It was a kid of the 70's dream to meet H.R. Pufnstuf!....Your right, the monster plantation when it opened was awsome.
  13. I remember seeing a E true Hollywood story on Sid and Marty Krofft several years ago and it show some film footage of the park, including the living island ride which showed a quick clip of an animatronic of one of the characters.
