  1. So glad you posted this. I know I am color deficient but I knew I saw what looked like blue supports by the green tracks lol. I feel like I'm not crazy now as those blue pcs were for Mad Mockingbird! So exciting to see the construction trucking along! Yep I was wrong. Sorry lol. I did think it was weird to see like every single track piece and then like 1 blue support
  2. Yes, the track is light green but the picture I saw of the supports showed a darker green. It could’ve just been the angle, though. Hopefully this means that it won’t be too long before vertical construction will begin of the coaster. Oh the supports are blue
  3. Thats been the case for several days this week involving LR not opening with the park. On another note, I came across some pictures on twitter showing more track pieces that have arrived for Dragon Flier, including some support pieces as well. The supports look to be a dark green color. Light Green. The whole coaster is practically there
  4. Well. Here it is. 2019 operating schedule. Notible changes; In March, The park will close at 6:00pm instead of 7:00pm, except on Saturdays, the park will now close at 8:00pm instead of 9:00pm. For April, May and first part of June, on Saturday’s the park will now close at 8:00pm instead of 9:00pm During the Dollywood Summer celebration, the park will close at 9:30pm instead of 10:00pm. For the Dollywood Harvest Festival and the GREAT Pumpkin LumiNights, in October the park will be closed on Tuesdays. And Dollywood’s Splash Country Changes: The park will no longer close at 8:00pm on Saturdays in July. The last week of August the park will only be open Sunday and Saturday. Subject to change though. As you know they made a bunch of changes to 2018’s schedule before the season started.
  5. There use to be 2 bumps, or “potholes” going down the drop. 1 is direct center of the drop 2nd one was right before it goes under the ride’s “step up” 1st one is still there, but was never a big deal. The 2nd one and the one that was violent AF is no longer an issue and there are cool looking braces on the outsides of the tracks in that spot
  6. Although it could be possible to do two trains by making 2 trains with 5 rows each instead of 1 train with 10 rows, using the first half of the station building as a break run and the other as a loading station, I doubt highly they would do this, the capacity would actually be slowed down in retrospect. Also this is the same exact model used on Orkanen, Dragon Roller Coaster, etc. The breaks are in the station, the final turn into the station is a high speed turn.
  7. On a cool note. Google Maps has updated the area over at Dollywood. Looks like it was taken around March. Also, interestingly, Google Earth’s 3D map also was updated for the first time since 2013. They also updated the terrain over Wildwood Grove and the Preferred parking lot to be flat like in real life.
  8. Pete Owens said in that video that despite rumors, they aren’t putting a chain lift on it and the launch works great, and that he is not gonna name names on who spread those rumors. They are working on other areas of the ride for a long fix, and once they feel it’s right, and finished safety check then it will reopen. Nothing about it being closed for the rest of the season. So Unless it’s posted or announced by Dollywood, or said in an interview by someone like Craig or Pete. Anything else is speculation or false rumors. Plus, operators and maintenance that work on the ride are the only people who are allowed to know anything about it, and they aren’t allowed to say anything like that. So if you hear something from an op on any other ride, they really don’t fully know what’s going on.
  9. The Black Bear Trail is a metallbau emmeln pony trek. A long powered track. No drops. No gravity. No S&S. No coaster here. Just sit on the ride and rock the bear back and forth.
  10. I sure am hoping they announce soon. It seems if a whole new area will be ready for next year they would have to start construction in the very near future. I am just so excited! I would be cool with just one attraction announcement at a time over many weeks. If I remember correctly didn't they do many teases on Mystery Mine ? At the time it was their most expensive addition. It’s really cool for me because this is the first year I’ve worked where there will be something new. I’m surprised on how quite it’s been kept. Obviously I wouldn’t even be saying anything if I knew anything. And that’s how I want to keep it, I don’t want to know anything until it’s annouced. To be honest I was under the impression it was going to be a parking lot or some maintenance building until all the trees and mountains disappeared lol All they said is to tell guests it was the biggest investment for Dollywood ever and that’s all they I’ve heard about it.
  11. New area is starting to look cool actually, gotta ride drop line and Thunderhead tho. I’m actually very excited to find out along with everyone else what’s happening with this area
  12. Happens every year. Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country in August alternate on and off besides the weekends. That being said Dollywood is open way more than most theme/amusement parks that time of yea
