  1. Grizzly at Kings Dominion Saturday night. While I really don't care for this rollercoaster because of the roughness, I must say it was an awesome ride at night. Complete darkness added to the drop since you couldn't see anything. I only got on because my daughter wanted the credit, but I enjoyed it...roughness and all lol
  2. That's what I'm hoping, that it was just due to staffing. I was planning on going today cause it seemed like such a random day for the park to be open, but couldn't make it. Happy I didn't since out was a horrible day. We were planning on going Saturday but that is looking like a no go also since the high will be 42 or something
  3. And it looks like they closed bizarro and mine train. I knew I should have went last weekend
  4. I really want to get out here sometime for one of the bonus days. Looking at the schedule I see the park is opened on Nov 7th. So far I have checked and schools are in session and this day just stands out. Is there something I'm missing? Like some sort of event going on? I'm thinking this will be a great dead day at the park, but figured I'd ask first. Thanks
  5. Oh I thought about it! We have only been going to amusement parks since labor day weekend. My son is scared of everything. He would only get on woodies before this trip though El Toro scared the cap out of him lol. He loved SDL and I'm embarrassed to say Sidewinder was his favorite....I'm working on him He even loved Wildcat.
  6. I was waiting for this review since I was at Hershey on Saturday as well. Madhouse isn't the word I've learned my lesson about going to HPITD on a Saturday! Fahrenheit was a good one, but not good enough to stand in line for an hour....which I did. I could kick myself for Storm Runner. I need the credit and that was one coaster I was itching to do all day. The line was either to long or the ride was down. Around 8:30pm it went down again. As I watched everyone leave the line, my group stood waiting and hoping it would be fixed. We gave up after 10 minutes. While my group decided to do the Hershey Tower, my son who's 10 and HATES drop towers, wanted to do Sidewinder. So after getting off Sidewinder, I see Storm Runner is working. Me and my son haul butt and only has a one car wait. As we are about to load, my son starts getting nervous. He wants the whole group there. He has never been on a launch coaster before and all this is new to him. So I was the good mom and said it was ok if he didn't want to get on and we could leave
  7. I was at Hershey Saturday as well Great Bear was my second last. Skyrush was my last
  8. I can't say for sure if it was really a 70 minute wait. Thats what the app was reporting, but I notice the app is a little screwy at times. Nitro was down a good part of the day...I believe it opened about 3:30 or 4:00? When we headed over, it was saying about a 30 minute wait but there was no way it took that long. I'd say more like 15 minutes. Justice League also was saying only a 15 minute wait, but we were at the sign that said 45 minute wait. Again, not 45 minutes. Line was moving pretty fast. I would say maybe about 25 to 30 minutes. I had to chuckle when the app was report Green Lantern as a 70 minute wait. Still haven't been on that coaster yet...
  9. Me and my family were at the park yesterday too. I have to agree. Kingda Ka was extremely smooth in the front seat. This was the first time riding for me so I made sure I listened to what others have said on here and did the front seat. WOW....very intense! The photo after was the cherry on top of my sundae Got right back on it for a second time and decided to just jump in the middle since our son doesn't like roller coasters and we didn't want to make him wait long, but that ride was a little rough. Nothing we couldn't handle though. We got there at opening and left right after the parade. Lines were great until about 4:30. People started piling in and I think it was extremely crowded. 70 minute wait for Nitro and they were pumping those trains out fast! We stood in line for Buccaneer 30 minutes and another 30 for Deju Vu. Hubby hates crowds so it was time to leave lol. I was a little disappointed with Buccaneer. Doesn't seem to go very high nor very fast. Deju Vu was also a really short ride
  10. I concur. My family went to SFA on Saturday. It wasn't to bad during the day but once the sun started to go down....Wow, I've actually never seen SFA so packed. While I love riding coasters in the dark, we decided the crowd just wasn't for us and left about 7.
  11. One look at this person's username, and what he wrote should be enough for a smart person to know that this is a :....TROLL Yes, I know my username is a little out there, but not a troll. Also, I'm a she, not a he. Its just a nickname that stuck. Back when I was younger, my friends and I called each other "Hooker" in a funny, but loving way. It was Christmas time and I needed a username which is why 'TheXmasHooker' came into play. Not trying to troll at all. Just really excited to be able to get back to theme parks
  12. Thank ya Jason. My family and I still enjoyed our experience, just wish there was a little more enthusiasm. Next time I will try the front and the back of Roar. Apocalypse will be saved until next year due to the chest, but I will keep in mind to get in the front. I remember years ago that ME had seat belt extensions for the bigger guest. Of course that was back when I didn't need it. I asked the girl if they still had them, but she said no. Its ok, just gives me something to keep working for. Plus, I really want to get on WW but with my weight, I'm to scared lol. We should be going back to SFGADV for their FF. The last 2 times we've went, I've stayed away from El Toro due to hearing how many people take the walk of shame. I will have to get up the courage to sit in the tester seat. I'm hoping since I fit on Roar and the WO, it won't be an issue. AND I still get to ride Bizzaro at least.
  13. Hello all! Newbie to the forum here. Have lurked but never posted. So here is the short of it. This is my home park. Haven't been in since about 1995 due to gaining a lot of weight. This summer I finally had enough and started to drop the weight. I have missed my roller coasters way to long. 30 pounds down now and me and the family have been to GrAdv twice this month. I choose that because many of their coasters are B & M and I've heard they are more fat friendly. So far I haven't had a problem with fitting on any ride except Batman the ride. Lucky for me they had a test seat and I was able to check before I embarrassed myself. OTSR's scare me because my chest is still measuring at 53 1/2 inches. So I try to stay away from them. So I just went to SFA on Saturday night for FF. Had a fun time and was able to fit on some roller coasters like Roar, WO RC. I'm still to worried to try ones like ME and Apocalypse. So here is my first question. Roar....I've read on here that its much smoother than before. Now I rode in the middle because of the lines, but woah, that has to be the roughest coaster I've ever ridden. That says a lot since I remember the days of riding ME before the cushions were installed. Is there a trick to this ride? Ride in the front or back My neck was hurting so bad after this ride lol What happened to this park? All the workers look miserable. They are so slow and there is no enthusiasm. The smell of marijuana through the park was a bit over- whelming. At ME, the operator was actually texting on her phone. At one point she announced the floor was going down and the girl checking the restraints had to yell because she was only halfway through with checking everyone. This park is so close to me, but it saddens me that my family refers to it as Ghetto Flags.
