Description:
Hey everyone! I'm so psyched that I'm able to bring you all this video. To make a long story short, during the 2nd lift of the ride I saw the "work lights" go on, and I knew EXACTLY what was going to happen. Sure enough, got to the top of the final lift, and there was the mountain, LIGHTS ON! Now we did E-Stop about 3/4 of the way through, and they did keep the lights on even after they released the car, but we went SO SLOW the rest of the way! Still it's cool to see the ride with the lights on! Anyway, some notes about the ride. First off, I had just been on the newly re-built California version and I can honestly say I like the Hong Kong version WAY better. It's smoother (yes, smoother!) "feels" a LOT faster, and there are more effects in this ride than the new CA version. Stuff like asteroids that the car zooms by (much like what was in Paris' Space Mountain: Mission 1), the 'star field' is REALLY pronounced and looks AWESOME. There's also this cool "hyperspace" tunnel you go through during the 'drop.' A few notes about the video: - The video doesn't really show off the FX as cool as they are. It's hard to see them in the video, but they are there! - There are two POV's, one with lights on, one with lights off. The lights off version gives you an idea of the effects and the feeling of speed, but you really have to ride it to experience it. - During the lights on part, it goes MUCH slower after having been dispatched from the block brake. Anyway, enjoy the video! --Robb
