I was living in San Antonio when they built this. I actually tried to get hired on by the contractor who was building it.......the 1st drop WAS awesome, until they shortened it. Never understood that damn helix, especially in the middle of the ride. Took this coaster out of the top 10 category IMO.
That first drop must have been amazing, and it's too bad that it got modified. Most of the ride looked fairly decent, but that massive helix just looked awful.
Here is the Pro POV from the park from 1992. This ride looked MESSED up..wait till you see the crazy curves and twists this ride had (in a bad way)
ADD that to the fact that Rattler opened with a 7-car MORGAN Train.
As you can see the helix was VERY boring even in 1992 (try to stay awake)
Audio was really bad so I added some music
